<p>Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in Engineering (Chemical, Energy) or closely related disciplines, Faculty of Engineering Job Summary: This is a predominantly teaching focused position to manage and support delivery of postgraduate, undergraduate, foundation and executive programmes. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in assisting teaching and research. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in teaching and research engagement. The successful candidate is expected to:</p><p>- Assist in teaching: Support the delivery of modules at the undergraduate level in subjects related to chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineering. <section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><ul><li><p>Manage all quantity surveying and commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle.</p></li><li><p>Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and periodic cost reports.</p></li><li><p>Monitor and control project costs to ensure budget compliance.</p></li><li><p>Prepare, review, and submit interim payment applications and certify subcontractor payment claims.</p></li><li><p>Identify, prepare, negotiate, and manage variation orders, contractual claims, and Extension of Time (EOT) claims.</p></li><li><p>Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and finalize subcontractor and main contract final accounts.</p></li><li><p>Maintain accurate records of project costs, contracts, variations, claims, and payments.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers on all commercial and contractual matters.</p></li><li><p>Provide commercial support to the Project Manager, identify commercial risks, and recommend cost-effective solutions.</p></li></ul></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.</p></li><li><p>Minimum of <strong>9–12 years</strong> of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of contract administration, commercial management, and cost control.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience in preparing payment applications, variations, claims, and final accounts.</p></li><li><p>Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and ERP/commercial management software.</p></li></ul><p></p></section>

<p>Ensure staff is working together as a team to ensure optimum service and that guest needs are met. Inspect grooming and attire of staff, and rectify any deficiencies. Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc. Inspect storage areas for organization, use of FIFO, and cleanliness. Complete scheduled inventories and stock and requisition necessary supplies. Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well-being of guests. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs.</p>
<p>Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees; and serve as a role model and first point of contact of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.</p>
