Main tasks and responsibilities Scope LP Modelling APS Modelling Collaboration Reporting & Automation Accountabilities: Maintain, validate, and continuously enhance the refinery LP model to accurately represent refinery configuration, process unit performance, operational constraints, product specifications, feedstock characteristics, and economic drivers. Maintain, develop, and optimize the APS Scheduling model to accurately reflect refinery operation, logistics constraints, inventory management requirements, and scheduling limitations. Ensure LP and APS models accurately represent current refinery operating constraints and business requirements, enabling effective planning, scheduling, optimization, and margin maximization. Act as the focal point within the Production Planning & Scheduling function for all LP and APS modelling activities, coordinating closely with Process Engineering, Operations, Commercial, and other relevant stakeholders. Proactively manage the monthly LP and APS model update cycle, ensuring all model inputs, assumptions, operating parameters, constraints, and crude data are reviewed, validated, and updated in a timely manner. Deliver validated and up-to-date LP and APS models within agreed planning and scheduling deadlines to support business decision-making. Coordinate and implement model updates resulting from operational changes, process unit modifications, catalyst changes, debottlenecking initiatives, performance improvements, and new business requirements. Perform routine plan-versus-actual analyses to identify gaps between model predictions and actual refinery performance, determine root causes, and implement corrective model improvements. Provide model-based insights and recommendations on refinery performance, operational constraints, feedstock selection, planning accuracy, and value improvement opportunities. Maintain and govern the refinery crude assay database, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, completeness, and timely updates. Support crude evaluations, feedstock flexibility assessments, operational studies, and refinery optimization initiatives through robust modelling and assay management. Perform LP optimization studies, sensitivity analyses, economic evaluations, and scenario modelling to support business decisions and identify value-maximizing opportunities. Develop and maintain reporting systems, dashboards, visualization tools, and automated solutions to improve planning, scheduling, and modelling effectiveness. Support the Production Planning & Scheduling department with reporting, dashboard development, data analytics, digitalization, and process automation initiatives. Prepare and issue monthly modelling status reports and management updates covering model performance, update progress, outstanding actions, improvement initiatives, and key modelling activities. Maintain comprehensive documentation of model assumptions, operating limits, yields, constraints, methodologies, and change history to ensure model governance and transparency. Key Deliverables: Accurate and validated monthly LP and APS models delivered within agreed deadlines. Reliable crude assay database and modelling data management. Operate plant systems through SCADA/DCS platforms, monitor process performance, respond to alarms and operational abnormalities, and coordinate with field operators and other departments to maintain <p>Provide robust production-engineering expertise to the subsurface development of the Operated Assets Subsurface function, under the direction of the TL Production Engineer BISAT Development, by supporting field-based production activities, planning production, well design, and completion, and applying production-engineering practices to well and reservoir management, well design and completion, and Integrated Production Modelling (IPM), in order to optimise well and field performance and support the safe, reliable, and efficient production of significant oil and gas deposits.</p><p>The position will act in accordance with the OQEP's Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, QHSE & Energy Management System requirements standards, Omani's government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.</p><p><strong><br></strong></p><p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities</strong></p><p>Provide robust technical production-engineering expertise, support, and innovative solutions for the execution of the production-engineering process, ensuring common engineering principles and concepts are applied; may handle a large scope of activities simultaneously and provide guidance to junior engineers and trainees.</p><p>Optimise well production through daily well-surveillance monitoring and troubleshooting of well-performance issues.</p><p>Hold direct responsibility for a range of activities including well surveillance, frac-job design and implementation, well testing, artificial-lift selection and design, completion and workover design and execution, well-intervention proposals, and well-stimulation design and execution.</p><p>Analyse and interpret field information using available engineering tools, making recommendations to optimise production and support field development.</p><p>Contribute to monthly production planning and reservoir-surveillance planning as required.</p><p>Hold direct responsibility for monitoring well failure rates, conducting the required Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), and recommending solutions to reduce such rates.</p><p>Participate in integrated field studies for maturing hydrocarbon resources.</p><p>Evaluate well and reservoir performance and recommend production-improvement opportunities.</p><p>Provide production-engineering input to business planning and well proposals, and participate in the preparation of development plans and optimisation studies to maximise project value.</p><p>Work closely with Reservoir Engineers and Geologists to maximise the value of assigned assets.</p><p>Ensure all evaluations are documented and related data is handled in accordance with the Company's Data Management Standards.</p><p>Work safely and proactively promote the Company's occupational health, safety, security, and environment culture, ensuring compliance with HSE and process-safety requirements and participating in HSE programs.</p><p>Fulfil stand-by / on-call duties when required.</p><p>Perform other similar duties as assigned by the TL Production Engineer BISAT Development.</p><p><strong>Key interactions</strong></p><p>Internal: TL Production Engineer BISAT Development and the Subsurface & Operation 60&48 team, and enabling functions (Reservoir Engineering, Geoscience, Well Delivery, Operations, Facilities, and HSSE).</p><p>External: Contractors, service providers, and technical consultants; OQ Group (parent-company interfaces, as applicable).</p><p><strong>Notable Working Conditions</strong>.
