The ARISE Program is a USD 100 million initiative spanning six years, designed to deliver climate action, ecosystem restoration, and economic growth through Nature-based Solutions (NbS) integrated into the Bioeconomy and Sustainable Special Economic Zones (SSEZs) . The program ultimately targets the restoration of 30,000 hectares of land, an estimated 750,000 tCO2e/year in greenhouse gas emission reductions, and the creation of over 1,000 green jobs. The implementation of the ARISE Program is structured around two phases. Phase 1 will cover 2 years, and Phase 2 will be over 4 years. The funding has been approved for Phase 1.</p><p>PURPOSE The Water Resource Management Officer (Civil Engineer) applies specialized civil engineering concepts under close supervision to support the planning, technical design, and implementation of water resource and related infrastructure under Phase 1 of the project. S/he assists in conducting engineering assessments, preparing technical specifications, drawings, and cost estimates, and ensuring that all infrastructure complies with applicable standards, environmental requirements, and project work plans. <section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>The Senior Renewable &amp; ESS Engineer is responsible for providing specialized technical support for the integration, operational planning, and performance monitoring of Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) within the OETC transmission network. The role supports the development and implementation of dispatch strategies for solar, wind, and battery assets to enhance grid stability, improve renewable energy utilization, and reduce operational constraints. The Senior Engineer analyzes renewable generation forecasts, monitors Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) State-of-Charge (SoC) and performance indicators, and supports the verification of Inverter-Based Resources (IBR) compliance with the technical requirements of the Grid Code and Transmission Security Standards.</p><p>Support the daily integration and scheduling of renewable energy resources by performing technical analysis to optimize dispatch and minimize curtailment. Analyze and support the operational strategy for Energy Storage Systems (ESS/BESS), including charging and discharging cycles for peak shaving, frequency response, and system reliability requirements. Assess the performance of forecasting tools for solar and wind generation and recommend improvements to reduce system imbalances. Review Inverter-Based Resource (IBR) technical performance and support compliance verification against Grid Code requirements for fault ride-through, voltage control, and frequency support. Monitor BESS State-of-Charge (SoC), availability, and health indicators to support readiness for critical grid services. Conduct performance analysis of renewable plants, identify deviations from forecasted output, and coordinate with relevant teams on corrective actions. Provide technical input to the Ancillary Services section on the role of BESS in fast frequency response (FFR), operating reserves, and other flexibility services. Participate in the technical review of new renewable and ESS project commissioning requirements to support smooth integration into the LDC dispatch environment. Prepare, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), guidelines, and technical instructions related to VRE and energy storage operations. Share technical knowledge with engineers and operators and support capability building in renewable energy technologies, ESS, and inverter-based power systems.</p><p>Knowledge and Understanding of Asset Management, QHSE Management System and IT Security Standard Requirements according to ISO55001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 27001 to carry out the assigned duties as per the roles and responsibilities matrix.
