The role carries company-wide accountability for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of all HSSE frameworks, systems, and culture across a 2.5 Mtpa copper processing operation with six active open pits. The HSSE Director leads the organisation toward a zero-harm workplace, ensures full compliance with Omani regulatory requirements and international standards, and embeds HSSE as a core value throughout all phases of commissioning, ramp-up, and sustained production.</p><p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><p>HSSE STRATEGY & LEADERSHIP</p><p>1. HSSE Strategy & Culture</p><ul><li>Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Company's HSSE strategy, management system, and culture in alignment with international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and Omani regulatory requirements.</li><li>Champion a zero-harm culture by visibly leading safety behaviour, holding all levels of the organisation accountable, and embedding HSSE as a non-negotiable value.</li><li>Provide strategic HSSE advice to the CEO, Board, and executive leadership team on all matters relating to safety, environment, and security.</li><li>Set and monitor HSSE performance targets, KPIs, and leading/lagging indicators; report regularly to the CEO and Board.</li></ul><p>SAFETY & HEALTH MANAGEMENT</p><p>2. Occupational Health & Safety</p><ul><li>Lead the design and implementation of site-wide safety management systems covering all mining, processing, maintenance, and support activities.</li><li>Oversee hazard identification, risk assessment, and control processes (HAZID, HAZOP, task risk assessments) across all operational phases.</li><li>Ensure robust permit-to-work, lockout/tagout, confined space, working-at-heights, and other critical control systems are in place and enforced.</li><li>Establish and manage occupational health programmes including fitness-for-work, industrial hygiene, and health surveillance.</li></ul><p>3. Incident Management</p><ul><li>Ensure all HSSE incidents, near-misses, and observations are promptly reported, rigorously investigated, and root causes addressed through systemic corrective actions.</li><li>Lead and oversee major incident investigations; present findings and corrective action plans to the CEO and Board.</li><li>Maintain a lessons-learned database and ensure findings are shared and embedded across all departments.</li></ul><p>ENVIRONMENT & SECURITY</p><p>4. Environmental Management</p><ul><li>Oversee the Company's environmental management system including air quality, water management, tailings management, land rehabilitation, and waste management.</li><li>Ensure full compliance with all environmental permits, conditions of approval, and applicable Omani environmental legislation.</li><li>Lead environmental monitoring programmes and ensure timely, accurate reporting to regulatory authorities.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and support the Company's ESG commitments to MDO.</li></ul><p>5. Security Management</p><ul><li>Establish and manage a site security framework covering access control, asset protection, personnel security, and emergency response.</li><li>Ensure security plans are current, tested, and aligned with Omani regulatory requirements and industry best practice.</li><li>Manage relationships with relevant government security agencies and emergency services.</li></ul><p>COMPLIANCE, EMERGENCY RESPONSE & PEOPLE</p><p>6. Regulatory Compliance & Reporting</p><ul><li>Maintain all required HSSE licences, permits, and regulatory approvals; manage relationships with the Ministry of Energy & Minerals, Ministry of Environment, and other relevant authorities.</li><li>Ensure HSSE reporting obligations to regulators, lenders, and MDO are met accurately and on time.</li><li>Lead HSSE audits, inspections, and third-party assurance reviews; track and close out all findings.</li></ul><p>7. <p><p>The vehicle inspector inspects all vehicle repairs to ensure maintenance is performed to the highest standard. Responsible for daily quality control of all vehicle repairs performed by the work center. Complies with all applicable USAF Technical Order (TO) requirements. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).</p>
<h4>Principal accountabilities</h4>
<ul>
<li>Inspects all vehicle repairs to ensure quality control is maintained to the highest level.</li>
<li>Monitors quality of work performed by technicians and documents rejected vehicle repairs.</li>
<li>Ensures safety practices and housekeeping guidelines are maintained to the highest standard.</li>
<li>Conducts impromptu toolbox inspections for accountability and serviceability of assigned tools.</li>
<li>Informs the chief mechanic of any deficiencies noted.</li>
<li>Conducts limited technical inspections (LTI's) on assigned vehicles and ensures inspections are performed within prescribed guidelines, determining the causes of malfunctions, extent of repairs required, parts required and cost of repair.</li>
<li>Assists with on-the-job training of new mechanics; provides knowledge, expertise and training to mechanics; provides task certification for mechanics in training and certifies periodic training.</li>
<li>Assists mechanics with repairs or replacement of parts and assemblies, realignment and adjustment systems including manual and automatic transmissions, steering and braking systems, clutches, fluid flywheels and torque converters, axle hubs and bearings, fuel air and cooling systems, suspension and body work.</li>
<li>Assists mechanics with troubleshooting and calibrating vehicle systems using diagrams, manuals, special tools, meters and test equipment.</li>
<li>Checks completeness and accuracy of maintenance forms such as work orders, parts requests and maintenance sheets; records data such as hours worked, work performed, speedometer/hour meter readings, parts used.</li>
<li>Ensures all tools, personal protective equipment and clothing issued remain safe, secure and serviceable reporting any deficiencies.</li>
<li>Assists with parts research by means of the commercial manuals, technical orders and parts manuals; checks all parts research to ensure accuracy and that only required repair parts are ordered.</li>
<li>Inspects vehicles after preparation of USAF vehicle assets for air/land/sea movement.</li>
<li>Ensures all hazardous materials are handled, stored and disposed of in accordance with Amentum Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and host nation rules.</li>
<li>Ensures that only current up-to-date technical orders and commercial manuals are used when repairing vehicles or assisting in repairs.</li>
<li>Uses quality database to enter and maintain all inspections required by SOP, WI's and all PWs publications.</li>
<li>Reports any discrepancies in shop first aid kits, fire extinguishers and eyewash stations.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>
<li>Works in maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.</li>

<h4>Minimum requirements</h4>

<li>Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an intermediate level.</li>
<li>Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.</li>
<li>Will be required to operate material handling equipment and light to heavy military type vehicles.</li>

<li>Four years' experience in vehicle repair required with three years on USAF equipment required.</li>
<li>Two years' experience in a quality control capacity and the ability to mentor individuals on a corrective action plan.</li>

<li>Will be required to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.</li>

control.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee daily warehouse and lifting activities, ensuring proper classification and safe management of stock materials using SAP systems.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor all lifting operations within the warehouse, plant premises and marine terminal to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all warehouse and contractor-provided lifting equipment and accessories, such as cranes, forklifts, and rigging tools are inspected, certified and maintained to meet safety and operational standards before use on company
