<p>Functions as the leader of the property s sales department for properties with bookings over 300 peak rooms and significant local catering revenue. Manages the property's reactive and proactive sales efforts. Reporting to the Dean and serving as a member of the Senior Management Team, the postholder will play a key role in strengthening financial sustainability, operational effectiveness, governance, and institutional performance through strong leadership, sound decision-making, and continuous improvement.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Provide strategic leadership for the College s finance and operations functions, ensuring effective financial management, sustainable resource utilisation, and operational excellence.</li><li>Lead the development and execution of financial strategies, annual budgets, forecasts, financial reporting, treasury management, procurement, and financial governance frameworks.</li><li>Ensure robust financial controls, regulatory compliance, risk management practices, and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.</li><li>Provide strategic oversight and leadership of key support functions, including Finance, Human Resources, Student Services, Information Technology, Marketing, Facilities, Health & Safety, and other administrative services, ensuring effective service delivery and alignment with institutional priorities.</li><li>Drive operational excellence by enhancing organisational efficiency, service quality, process effectiveness, and resource optimisation across support functions.</li><li>Lead institutional operational planning and oversee performance monitoring against strategic objectives, operational plans, and Key Performance Indicators.</li><li>Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, systems, and processes that support effective institutional operations.</li><li>Ensure business continuity, operational resilience, and appropriate risk mitigation frameworks are established and maintained.</li><li>Establish and maintain strong relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, auditors, financial institutions, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.</li><li>Support institutional accreditation, quality assurance, and compliance activities through effective governance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li><li>Provide strategic financial analysis, operational insights, and recommendations to support informed decision-making.</li><li>Lead organisational improvement initiatives and change programmes that enhance institutional capability and long-term sustainability.</li><li>Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and high performance across the College.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.</li><li>Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.</li><li>MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.</li></ul><p>Experience</p><ul><li>Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance and operations, including substantial experience in a senior leadership position.</li><li>Demonstrated experience leading finance functions and overseeing diverse operational services within a complex organisation.</li><li>Strong expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, reporting, governance, risk management, and operational improvement.</li><li>Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver measurable organisational outcomes.</li><li>Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting platforms, and business process improvement.</li><li>Experience within higher education, healthcare, or other regulated sectors is desirable</li></ul>

<p>A new financial markets infrastructure venture is being established in Oman, backed by prominent institutional investors and operating under an international common law framework. We are hiring an accounts payable and receivable officer to own the company's payment cycle and receivables management from day one.</p>
<p>What the role covers</p>
<ul>
<li>Processing supplier invoices: receipt, coding, verification against purchase orders and contracts, and preparation of payment runs for approval</li>
<li>Maintaining supplier master data and bank details, with appropriate fraud controls</li>
<li>Processing employee expense claims and reconciling corporate travel agency invoices and card statements</li>
<li>Preparing and issuing customer invoices, recording receipts, and monitoring overdue balances</li>
<li>Daily bank account reconciliation and petty cash and corporate card record maintenance</li>
<li>Applying payment controls including segregation of duties and dual authorisation</li>
<li>Identifying and escalating anomalous transactions without delay</li>

<p>Who we are looking for</p>
<ul>
<li>At least five years in an accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting role</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience operating end-to-end AP and AR processes</li>
<li>Familiarity with corporate banking platforms and payment controls</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Omani VAT</li>
<li>Fluent in English; working Arabic preferred</li>
<li>A part-qualification or accounting technician qualification is an advantage</li>
<li>Experience in a regulated financial services entity or a start-up environment is also an advantage</li>
