<p>Math Tutors teach pre-university-foundation-level Maths to students on Muscat University s Foundation Programme. They are responsible for planning and delivering interesting, useful and engaging Maths lessons to students on the Foundation Programme. Maths Tutors support Muscat University s vision by ensuring that students have an appropriate knowledge of Maths to enable them to achieve success once they progress onto their chosen degree programme. Working closely with the Director of General Foundation Programme, and other tutors on the Programme, maths tutors will be expected to teach up to 20 hours (1 hour = 45 minutes) of Maths classes per week. Tutors will also be required to create assessments and mark to given deadlines. These main responsibilities will be undertaken in close collaboration with the Director of General Foundation Programme, the Maths Coordinator and other Maths and Physical Sciences Tutors. Planning and delivering up to 20 hours of maths tuition per week to students on the Undergraduate Foundation Programme; Working with the Maths Coordinator to create and mark assessments; Moderating Maths and potentially Physical Science exams as and when required; Providing maths support, as required, to students on the first year of their undergraduate/bachelor study; Providing remedial maths support to students requiring extra maths assistance; Providing academic advising sessions; Administrative duties relating to teaching (assessment, standardisation, moderation, lesson preparation, report writing, attendance of regular course and general meetings).
