<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>Provide Operational Support at OQEP, Operated Assets Operations Support, under TL Operation Support scope s by delivering of a best practice operational strategies and results; in order to ensure safe and efficient operations at the site.</p><p>The position will act in accordance with the OQEP s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, QHSE & Energy Management System requirements standards, Omani s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.</p><h2>Main tasks and responsibilities</h2><h3>Common for All Levels</h3><p>Provide operational and technical engineering support across upstream surface facilities and associated systems, including on plot and off plot installations, during execution, commissioning, start up, and steady state operations.</p><p>Support troubleshooting, technical assessments, and operational problem solving to ensure safe and efficient plant and field operations.</p><p>Deliver assigned engineering and operational support tasks, including technical backup for hardware, process systems, utilities, and associated applications.</p><p>Support pre commissioning, commissioning, start up, and readiness activities for projects, brownfield modifications, and operational improvements.</p><p>Interface with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, HSE, Supply Chain and other Functions to support technical resolution of operational and execution issues.</p><p>Support procurement and supply activities from a technical standpoint, including resolving operational and technical clarification matters.</p><p>Monitor and support readiness to operate activities to ensure assets meet safety, operability, and reliability requirements.</p><p>Participate in operational reviews, audits, studies, and assurance activities (e.g. ORA, PSSR), as required by project or asset lifecycle stage.</p><p>Ensure compliance with company engineering standards, operating philosophies, applicable regulations, and best industry practices.</p><h3>Engineer Operation Support</h3><p>Execute assigned engineering and operational support tasks under supervision.</p><p>Apply approved engineering procedures, standards, and work practices during execution and operations.</p><p>Support commissioning, start up, and operational activities as part of a multi disciplinary team.</p><p>Contribute to studies, reviews, and troubleshooting activities under guidance.</p><h3>Senior Engineer Operation Support</h3><p>Independently handle multiple operational support and execution scopes across on plot and off plot facilities.</p><p>Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and trainees.</p><p>Apply hands on experience in upstream surface facilities, including major process units and associated rotating and static equipment.</p><p>Act as discipline or process lead in technical reviews and studies (e.g. design reviews, HAZOP, RCAs, MOCs).</p><p>Lead technical input for brownfield modifications, operational improvements, and energy efficiency initiatives.</p><p>Manage technical aspects of procurement, bid evaluation, and vendor document reviews.</p><h3>Lead Engineer Operation Support</h3><p>Act as technical authority for operational support across on plot and off plot upstream facilities.</p><p>Provide strategic technical direction and ensure consistent application of engineering principles across assets and teams.</p><p>Lead and coordinate engineering and operational support teams during execution, commissioning, and readiness phases.</p><p>Serve as focal point for ORA, PSSR, commissioning governance, and operational readiness assurance.</p><p>Own technical risk evaluation, readiness endorsement, and final technical recommendations to management and stakeholders.</p><p>Support capability development, succession planning, and continuous improvement within Operation Support.</p><h2>Key interactions</h2><p>Internal: Operated Assets functions.</p><p>External: Contractors, Vendors & Suppliers Notable Working Conditions. <p><b>Job purpose :</b></p>
<p>Provide subject matter expertise in Reservoir Engineering to support investment valuations, subsurface assessments, and strategic decision-making within the Commercial function. The role delivers authoritative technical input into asset evaluations, opportunity screening, and portfolio analysis by applying advanced reservoir engineering knowledge to economic and commercial frameworks.</p>

<p><b>Main tasks and responsibilities </b></p>
<p> Provide expert reservoir engineering input to support investment valuations, asset acquisitions, divestments, and farm-in/farm-out evaluations within the Commercial function. </p>
<p> Lead subsurface technical assessments including reserves and resources estimation, production forecasting, and field performance analysis in support of commercial transactions and portfolio reviews. </p>
<p> Conduct and quality-assure reservoir simulation studies, material balance analyses, and decline curve analyses to underpin volumetric and economic evaluations. </p>
<p> Provide independent technical review and challenge of subsurface assumptions used in investment cases, business development notes, and project initiation notes. </p>
<p> Support due diligence processes for upstream opportunities, including data room visits and technical assessment of third-party assets. </p>
<p> Collaborate with the Economics & Planning function to integrate subsurface uncertainty ranges into economic models, sensitivity analyses, and risk-weighted valuations. </p>
<p> Develop and maintain reservoir engineering standards, tools, and workflows relevant to the Commercial function's investment evaluation process. </p>
<p> Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers within the team. </p>
<p> Represent OQEP in technical forums, joint venture meetings, and partner discussions on reservoir engineering matters as required. </p>
<p> Liaise with operated and non-operated asset teams to gather subsurface data and validate technical assumptions used in commercial evaluations. </p>
<p> Contribute to the preparation of investment proposals, executive summaries, and board-level presentations related to upstream opportunities. </p>
<p> Ensure all technical evaluations and reports are documented in accordance with company Data Management Standards. </p>
<p> Support the continuous improvement of valuation methodologies and best practices within the Investment Valuations & Strategy function. </p>

<p>Background and experience:</p>
<p> Minimum 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience with an upstream oil & gas operator or consultancy. Preferred experience with upstream investments, VDRs, Commercial and Business Development Interface. Local and international exposure with various environments and hydrocarbon fields settings.</p>
<p> Proven experience in reserves estimation and reporting in accordance with PRMS/SPE standards. </p>
<p> Strong background in reservoir simulation, production forecasting, and material balance techniques. </p>
<p> Experience in subsurface technical evaluations for commercial transactions (acquisitions, divestments, farm-ins, JVs). </p>
<p> Familiarity with Oman's upstream regulatory environment and concession/EPSA framework is an advantage. </p>
<p> Experience working in multidisciplinary teams alongside geoscientists, economists, and commercial professionals. </p>
<p> Track record of delivering technical evaluations under tight commercial deadlines. </p>
