<p>Lead and supervise nursing staff in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Coordinate and ensure safe, high-quality nursing care for critically ill and premature newborns. Monitor neonates vital signs, clinical condition, and response to treatment. Ensure proper administration of medications, IV fluids, blood products, and prescribed treatments. Supervise the use of ventilators, CPAP, incubators, phototherapy, and other neonatal equipment. Coordinate with neonatologists, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary teams regarding patient care. <p>The Maternity Nurse will provide professional, compassionate, and discreet support to a new mother and her newborn baby, within a private home environment. The role focuses on ensuring the mother’s recovery, supporting feeding and sleep routines, and caring for the newborn’s overall wellbeing during the postnatal period. The Maternity Nurse helps the family adjust confidently to life with their new baby while maintaining a calm, nurturing atmosphere. </p><br><p>Key Responsibilities: </p><p><strong>Newborn Care </strong></p><p><strong>• </strong>Provide twelve (12) hour care for the newborn, including feeding, changing, bathing, dressing, and settling. </p><p>• Establish and maintain appropriate feeding and sleeping routines tailored to the baby’s needs. </p><p>• Monitor the baby’s health, noting feeding patterns, sleep habits, and any signs of illness. </p><p>• Ensure all baby items (bottles, clothes, nursery equipment) are clean, organized, and ready for use. • Support with sterilization and preparation of bottles if formula feeding or mixed feeding. </p><br><p><strong>Maternal Support </strong></p><p>• Offer emotional and practical support to the mother during her recovery from childbirth. </p><p>• Provide guidance on breastfeeding techniques, expressing milk, or bottle-feeding methods. </p><p>• Ensure the mother is resting, eating well, and recovering physically and emotionally. </p><p>• Encourage healthy postnatal habits and self-care routines. Assist with emergency obstetric interventions and resuscitation when required. Assist with immediate newborn care and assist with neonatal resuscitation when necessary. Monitor mother and newborn during the immediate post-delivery recovery period . Support breastfeeding initiation and promote early mother baby bonding. Maintain accurate nursing records, delivery notes, and patient documentation. Ensure strict infection-control, aseptic techniques, and patient-safety standards. Prepare and maintain LDR equipment, emergency supplies, and delivery room readiness. Educate mothers and families regarding labour, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn care. Coordinate effectively with obstetricians, midwives, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.</p>
