Responsible for PSO Headquarters and GPMS sites' facilities special initiatives and preventive Maintenance program, implementation of computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) and coordinating activities. Manages scheduling and tracking of "work orders" from initiation through completion. <section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p><strong>Job title</strong> Technician, Power Controls & Communication</p><p><strong>Stream</strong> Downstream</p><p><strong>Function</strong> Maintenance</p><p><strong>OQ8</strong></p><p><strong>Location</strong> Duqm</p><p><strong>Budget control</strong> *OPEX and/or CAPEX and/or Revenue amount as relevant*</p><p><strong>Reporting to</strong> Supervisor Electric Power Controls & communication</p><p><strong>Direct reports</strong></p><p><strong>Job purpose</strong></p><p>Perform Electrical Power Controls & communication maintenance at the designed location, under Supervisor Electric Power Controls & communication Services scope, as the focal point of contact; through (1) Executing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of Electric Power Controls & communication installations in designated areas / Plants (including process, utility, power generation, workshop, offices, laboratory) while observing safety rules and contributing in the achievement of KPIs, as per Department Business Plan, (2) Maintain Electric Power Controls & communication preserving the operational integrity of systems and equipment, and (3) Provide preventive and corrective Electric Power Controls & communication maintenance of electronic equipment, in order to minimize downtime, cost-effective and ensure the reliability, availability of equipment.</p><p>The position will act in accordance with the OQ8 s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and international standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Oman s government & other legal justification s, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.</p><p><strong>Main tasks and responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>SoW - Areas</strong></p><ul><li>Heavy Oil Complex Operation (CDU, VDU, SGP, LTU, KTU, DCU, and UGP)</li><li>Hydro Processing Complex (HCU/ARU/SWS/DHT/HPU/PSA)</li><li>Sulfur/Utilities/WWTP Complex Operations (SRU, TGTU, ARU, CRU, SSW, CSW, BFW, Steam Generation, Air, N2, CWT, WWTP)</li><li>Offsite/Logistics Complex (Receiving Terminal, Refinery Tankage, Product Dispatch, Coke and Sulfur Handling, Flare, Buildings)</li></ul><p><strong>Electric Main Accountabilities</strong></p><ul><li>Receives assignments or work orders from electrical supervisors and coordinates activities with other technicians and operators for solving problems on electrical motors and lighting systems.</li><li>Install and maintain Electrical installations in Refinery units including process, utility, generation, workshop, offices, Laboratory, etc.</li><li>Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs, troubleshooting and performs scheduled preventive maintenance repairs</li><li>Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.</li><li>Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.</li><li>Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters</li><li>Testing and certification of portable electrical tools</li><li>Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas</li><li>Monitoring of Electrical parameters of Electrical Power systems and installations</li><li>Ensures that over-current and under-voltage protection devices, as well as circuit breakers, fuses, etc., are correctly installed.</li><li>Diagnoses, repairs, and tests wiring or circuit faults using tools such as voltmeter, ammeter etc., and referring to wiring diagrams as necessary.</li><li>Checks electrical motors, generators, switchgear etc. and ensures that all connection points and cables are capable of withstanding designated capacity voltages.</li><li>Dismantles and re-assembles electrical equipment and replaces or repairs parts (such as start switches, controls, elements, wiring).</li><li>Tests equipment s insulation, tests coil windings, checks motors for electrical integrity.</li><li>Performs Preventive Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance, and Annual Maintenance (Turnaround) for, 132Kv and 33KV breakers, Power transformers, VFD,battery chargers, Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) units, protection relays, Batteries, IPCS, PMS system etc.</li></ul><p><strong>Key interactions</strong></p><ul><li>Internal: Electrical Supervisors, TL, Planners, Operations STL, HSE</li><li>External: Contractors staff</li></ul><p><strong>Notable Working Conditions.</strong> Field Operations and office environment, Moderate screen use. <p>Responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the plant to support production targets. Perform routine operational tasks under supervision, ensuring safety and procedural standards compliance. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to maintain reliable and trouble-free operations.</p><p>Principle Duties & Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment ensuring compliance with safety standards</li><li>Monitor and record equipment operational parameters in the field, reporting abnormalities to the Control Room Operator (CRO) or Supervisors</li><li>Support system start-ups and shutdowns as directed by supervisor</li><li>Assist in pressurizing and depressurizing equipment and pipelines when required</li><li>Regularly check pressure, delta pressure, temperature, and level gauges, reporting irregularities to the CRO</li><li>Follow instructions from the CRO or Supervisors to maintain stable plant operations and support production optimization</li><li>Adhere to QHSE standards and procedures (e.g., LOTO, PTW, TBT, JHA) and ensure proper documentation of tasks</li><li>Participate in training and reviews of operational procedures, offering basic feedback for improvement</li><li>Conduct basic operational and maintenance checks (daily, weekly, monthly) under supervision</li><li>Assist in preparing equipment for maintenance, including isolation, draining, and decontamination</li><li>Ensure accurate and timely handover of information to the next shift team</li><li>Identify and report unsafe conditions to supervisors.</li><li>Safely handle and top up chemicals, lubricants, and coolants, collecting samples as directed</li><li>Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards during and after tasks</li><li>Comply with Emergency Response Team (ERT) roles and responsibilities as assigned</li><li>Comply with all Enerflex HR, Quality, HSE, and all the Company policies, procedures, processes, work instructions and guidelines</li><li>Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor / Manager</li></ul><p>Summary</p><p>Principle Responsibilities and Duties</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Minimum a technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent</p><p>0-2 years of experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas sector</p><p>Familiar with plant equipment, processes, and all ongoing activities.</p><p>General troubleshooting, problem-solving, information analysis, and interpersonal skills</p><p>General understanding of Plant PFDs, P & IDs, drawings, Cause & Effect matrix, and Fire & Gas detection system philosophy</p><p>Basic understanding of Maintenance Management System (Work orders, Preventive/Corrective/and Predictive Maintenance) methodology</p><p>Computer proficiency is mandatory. Good working knowledge of typical Microsoft suite of software is required.</p><p>Good interpersonal and communication skills. Good English command, written and spoken.
