<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles & Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p>Technicians shall have experience on kitchen equipment, central laundry equipment, pump sets, compressor stations, lifting gear hydraulics and pneumatics, with knowledge of associated controls.</p>
<p>Particular experience of large sewage treatment plants, water treatment and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) installations would be an advantage.</p>
<p>Experience in operation testing and calibration of sterilizing equipment.</p>
<p>Must have good knowledge of electricity, electronics and associated equipment and be able to maintain mechanical equipment that may be found present in modern day autoclaves.</p>
<p>Must have had experience in working with Gettinge type autoclaves as well as other brands and be aware of the British Standards laid down by Hospital Technical Memorandum 2022.</p>
<p>The Technician must have a good knowledge of steam both theory and practice and its use in the sterilization process.</p>

<p>Mechanical Technicians must have a minimum of Five (01) year experience of central boiler steam raising plant, associated steam pipe work and controls, condense recovery systems and boiler water treatment. This will include knowledge of safety and current regulations as applied to such plant.</p>
<p>Each must have a certificate of competence from a government-recognized source preferably a Class one Boiler Operators Certificate.</p>
<p>Technicians shall have experience of machine shop work including lathe and milling machine work, screw cutting and other close tolerance work with welding ability.</p>
