<p>The role is responsible for carrying out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment within the power and water plant. The role ensures the reliability, availability, efficiency, and safe operation of generating units, desalination systems, auxiliary equipment, and balance-of-plant assets.</p><p><strong>ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p>1- Troubleshooting Faulty Machinery</p><p>Stay aware of anything unusual, troubleshoot faulty machinery and diagnose the root cause of the malfunction using diagnostic tools and problem-solving abilities.</p><p>2- Mechanical Preventive and Corrective maintenance</p><p>Performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the power and water plant. This includes inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling rotating and static equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, fans, heat exchangers, gearboxes, and associated auxiliary systems.</p><p>3-Contractor Management</p><p>Coordinate and supervise contractor personnel performing mechanical maintenance activities within the plant. Inspect completed contractor work to verify compliance with technical specifications, maintenance standards, and plant requirements</p><p>4- Collaboration on Complex Mechanical Issues</p><p>Ensure maintenance procedures reflect current best practices, OEM recommendations, safety requirements, and plant operational needs.</p><p>5-SOP & Manual Update and Development</p><p>Support the development, review, and periodic update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, and equipment manuals for mechanical systems and equipment. Ensure SOPs and maintenance documentation are aligned with OEM recommendations, industry best practices, plant requirements, and HSE standards.</p><p>6-Document Maintenance and Repairs Daily Log</p><p>Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately using SAP, Maximo, or other CMMS systems. Prepare maintenance reports and equipment history records. Update equipment inspection checklists and maintenance logs.</p><p>7- Coaching New Hires</p><p>Coach newly hired/Junior Mechanical Technicians and teach them various policies, procedures, and repair techniques.</p><p>8- Safety Compliance</p><p>Comply with all plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments. Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.</p><p>9-Technical Skills</p><p>Mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis. Pump and compressor maintenance. Turbine auxiliary systems maintenance. Mechanical seal and bearing replacement. Shaft alignment using laser alignment tools. Reading and interpreting P&IDs, engineering drawings, and manuals. Hydraulic and pneumatic systems maintenance. Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques. <p>Asset & reliability engineer to enhance the long-term reliability, performance, and lifecycle efficiency of plant assets. The role focuses on applying reliability engineering principles, data analysis, and continuous improvement practices to improve equipment availability, reduce downtime, and optimize maintenance costs.</p>

<p><strong>EnMS implementation & governance</strong><br>
Support day-to-day operation of the EnMS in conformance with ISO 50001:2018 requirements.<br>
Coordinate implementation of management review, internal audit, and external audit actions.<br>
Maintain EnMS documentation, registers, and records in line with IMS document control requirements.</p>
<p><strong>EnMT coordination, facilitation & reporting</strong><br>
Plan and coordinate EnMT meetings (quarterly and ad-hoc); issue agendas, prepare MoMs, and track actions via ATR.<br>
Ensure timely information flow from assets and functions to the MR and EnMT chairman.<br>

Support development and updates of energy review register, EnBs, EnPIs, EDCP, and energy performance scorecards.<br>
Coordinate with assets, metering, and sustainability to ensure data accuracy, traceability, and punctual reporting.<br>
Support development of asset-wise EnPI dashboards (e.g., Power BI / Digital Twin initiatives).</p>

Coordinate identification, prioritization, and tracking of energy improvement initiatives (short-, medium-, and long-term).<br>

Support internal EnMS audits and ensure timely closure of NCRs with effectiveness checks.<br>
Maintain and support surveillance and recertification audits.<br>
Facilitate demonstration of EnMS conformance across support functions (procurement, talent development, technical services).</p>
<p><strong>Awareness, competence & engagement</strong><br>
Coordinate EnMS awareness campaigns, policy rollout, and induction of new EnMT members.<br>
Maintain EnMT competence records and support training programs (awareness, internal auditor, lead auditor).<br>
Liaise with communications and CI teams to promote energy culture and recognition programs.</p>

To prepare progress reports and conduct progress meetings with clients on a regular basis for all engineering, procurement, fabrication and commissioning activities related to the Project. Responsible for overall planning and execution of the project, supervision, team management, schedule, quality and safety management, risk management and client management once the Project Job Order is issued throughout the project lifecycle, and delivery of project in accordance with the scope and schedules while satisfying the project’s technical and quality requirements. The jobholder will be the focal point for client, subcontractor and ODC management team. To develop strategies and contingency plans of the Project. To ensure that construction man powers are fully managed and informed about the progress of the Project and that all project instructions are adhered to. To coordinate constructability input and interface with production department to ensure good communication. Ensuring the work proceeds on schedule and develop action plans to maintain schedule or to catch up on any delayed work. To make plan, schedule and report progress for all Work required to meet the Contract Schedule, including all necessary interfacing with other parties. To organize, plan and manage the execution of commission activities in every phases of the project and secure adequate resources Docking-Undocking Managing Manage the docking/undocking of Project in collaboration with the Client, Master of Vessel, Agents and Production Control department in order to ensure project development as per timelines.  Pre-arrival Meetings and KoM Organize and lead the pre-arrival meetings with all respective Project In-Charge Engineers’ in order to technically explain and clarify the client’s requirements and specifications. Organize and lead the KOM (Kick-off Meeting) with all respective Project In-Charge Engineers and  Client’s representatives in order to technically explain, clarify and agree with all parties involved the requirements and specification for the purpose of the Project Technical Advice and Troubleshooting Provide technical advice to the Project in-charge Engineers, from issuance of job order to completion of the repair work to support them in achieving their jobs within the budget. Provide technical advice and support to the internal departments giving feedback and recommendations on the work summary report, or project status, in order to ensure completion of the project activities on time and as per client/contract requirements. Client Interaction Review the expenditure and cost, budgets and MH utilization in the department in order to ensure the cost does not exceed the established budget for the department.  Resources Control and Allocation Coordinate with the clients to get all queries / clarifications resolved before the start of job, or during the project, in order to ensure all requirements are clearly understood by various Production departments and reduce the amount of rework required at later stages. Communicate the Client’s responses, or specifications, to the respective departments in ODC in order to ensure clear communication protocols To implement a comprehensive document management system in accordance with Client’s requirement of the Project.  Progress Updates and Documentation Ensure that all Project Manager activities findings and updates are reported to the Department format so that critical events and potential delays are timely and accurately communicated for prompt action, thus minimizing impact on overall schedules. Ensure that any additions or cancellation of work as per the original agreed scope according to the standard format, technically correct and can be carried out.
