<p><strong>INTRODUCTION TO GGGI</strong> The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. In the Sultanate of Oman, GGGI has partnered with the Government through the leadership of the Environment Authority (EA) to develop the "Accelerating Resilience and Innovation for Sustainable Ecosystems management" (ARISE) Program . The ARISE Program is a USD 100 million initiative spanning six years, designed to deliver climate action, ecosystem restoration, and economic growth through Nature-based Solutions (NbS) integrated into the Bioeconomy and Sustainable Special Economic Zones (SSEZs) . The program ultimately targets the restoration of 30,000 hectares of land, an estimated 750,000 tCO2e/year in greenhouse gas emission reductions, and the creation of over 1,000 green jobs. The implementation of the ARISE Program is structured around two phases. Phase 1 will cover 2 years, and Phase 2 will be over 4 years. The funding has been approved for Phase 1.</p><p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY</strong> Based in Salalah, in Dhofar Governorate, Oman, the Senior Program Assistant will provide essential administrative, logistical, and programmatic support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation for the ARISE Program. Reporting directly to the ARISE Program Lead (Chief of Party), the Senior Program Assistant will be the backbone of the office, coordinating internal and external meetings, managing travel itineraries, processing documentation, and assisting the broader technical team in executing program activities effectively and efficiently.</p><p><strong>PURPOSE</strong></p><ul><li>Take responsibility for day-to-day administrative and logistical activities needed for the successful implementation of the ARISE Program in Salalah.</li><li>Provide comprehensive logistical support in the organization and delivery of program-related events, including the Program Steering Committee (PSC), Program Management Committee (PMC), regional workshops, training sessions, and high-level stakeholder meetings.</li><li>Ensure consistency and quality across technical documents, reports, and presentations.</li><li>Contribute to research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement across the public and private sectors.</li><li>Support internal reporting, monitoring, and knowledge management tasks</li><li>Perform administrative support including note-taking, agenda development, calendar updates, and the maintenance of an organized program filing system.</li></ul><p><strong>ENGAGEMENT</strong></p><ul><li>Reports directly to the Chief of Party - ARISE Program Lead and works closely with the broader technical team.</li><li>Collaborates actively with internal technical teams to ensure that workshops, training sessions, and meetings smooth delivery.</li><li>Coordinates with GGGI s Regional Office (RO-MENA) and HQ teams for administrative alignment, travel approvals, and general operational compliance.</li><li>Engages with Omani government stakeholders (e.g., Environment Authority, Dhofar Municipality) and local community partners to facilitate meeting arrangements, protocol, and correspondence.</li><li>Liaises with external vendors and service providers (e.g., hotels, travel agencies, event venues) to ensure smooth logistical support for program activities.</li><li>Represent the program in meetings, workshops, and calls as delegated, ensuring effective follow-up and timely documentation.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in environment, sustainable development, climate change, public policy and relevant subject, Advance degree is an advantage.</li><li>A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience in office administration, logistics, event coordination, or project support. Experience with international organizations, NGOs, or government agencies is a strong advantage.</li><li>Preferred at least 2 to 4 years of experience in climate change, sustainability data analysis, ESG reporting, policy implementation, program management or other fields relevant to this assignment.</li><li>Experience in day-to-day engagement with Government ministries and agencies. <li>Support<br> tutorials, practical sessions, workshops, and seminars across Transport<br> and Logistics-related modules.</li>
<li>Assist<br> students with transport management, logistics operations, supply chain<br> management, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, distribution,<br> and transportation planning.</li>
<li>Help<br> students understand key concepts such as transport systems, logistics<br> networks, supply chain design, demand forecasting, inventory control,<br> operations management, and performance measurement.</li>
<li>Assist<br> in preparing practical exercises, case studies, datasets, simulations,<br> presentations, and other teaching resources.</li>
<li>Support<br> the use of relevant transport, logistics, analytical, and simulation<br> software during practical and teaching sessions.</li>
<li>Support<br> marking of assignments, case studies, reports, quizzes, projects, and<br> practical assessments under supervision.</li>
