Develop methodologies for assessing system adequacy and security of supply to support Oman s energy transition and electricity-sector decarbonization. Assist the Director of Planning & Economics in the preparation of the seven year statements. Develop planning methodologies and analytical frameworks to support renewable energy integration, standalone battery energy storage systems, pumped hydro storage, hydrogen and other emerging low-carbon technologies. Liaise with key stakeholders to define data requirements, coordinate data collection and ensure input assumptions are complete, consistent and fit for planning and modelling purposes. Manage and undertake day-to-day modelling activities including generation expansion planning, production cost modelling, plant operational simulation studies and fuel usage studies. Evaluate resource options for electricity and water supply, including specific supply technologies with their cost and operating parameters, and maintain associated databases necessary for resource planning. Assess capacity contribution of conventional and renewable generation technologies. Evaluate system flexibility, operability and balancing requirements under increasing renewable energy penetration, including the role of standalone BESS, pumped hydro storage, demand-side resources and other flexibility options. Assess risks and develop mitigation plans associated with demand and supply contingencies. Prepare project definition handover reports to initiate procurement actions. Lead the development and enhancement of generation expansion planning, production cost, resource adequacy and flexibility assessment models. Minimum 1015 years of accounting experience , including at least 5 years in the Mining, Quarry, Construction Materials, Rock crushing, Manufacturing or Mineral Export industry. Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, and project accounting. Experience in handling export documentation and international trade transactions is highly preferred.</p><h2>Technical Skills</h2><p>Mandatory hands-on experience in QuickBooks Accounting Software. Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookup Functions, Dashboards, Financial Modelling, Data Analysis & MIS Reporting). Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and internal controls. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page.</p><p>In the Sultanate of Oman, under the oversight of the Regional Office (RO) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), the Regional Director (RD) has been leading a multi-disciplinary team of experts to develop a partnership with the Government through the leadership of the Environment Authority (EA) to develop the "Accelerating Resilience and Innovation for Sustainable Ecosystems management" (ARISE) Program . The ARISE Program is a USD 100 million initiative spanning six years, designed to deliver climate action, ecosystem restoration, and economic growth through Nature-based Solutions (NbS) integrated into the Bioeconomy and Sustainable Special Economic Zones (SSEZs) . The program ultimately targets the restoration of 30,000 hectares of land, an estimated 750,000 tCO2e/year in greenhouse gas emission reductions, and the creation of over 1,000 green jobs. The implementation of the ARISE Program is structured around two phases. Phase 1 will cover 2 years, and Phase 2 will be over 4 years. The funding has been approved for Phase 1.</p><p>PURPOSE The Water Resource Management Officer (Civil Engineer) applies specialized civil engineering concepts under close supervision to support the planning, technical design, and implementation of water resource and related infrastructure under Phase 1 of the project. S/he assists in conducting engineering assessments, preparing technical specifications, drawings, and cost estimates, and ensuring that all infrastructure complies with applicable standards, environmental requirements, and project work plans. Working closely with project teams and local counterparts, the Officer ensures that deliverables are produced in a timely manner to support broader project objectives within established scope, schedule, and budget.</p><p>ENGAGEMENT • Work closely with the Chief of Party (ARISE Program Lead), Regional Director, the Program Implementation Unit (PIU), the Regional PIU Support Team, and Stakeholders to support technical design of infrastructures and engineering assessments, complying with established GGGI policies, and Omani Government standards, while ensuring timely action and response. • Keep abreast on civil engineering changes in policies and regulations, and undertake timely strategic review of GGGI's country program ensuring continued relevance. • Maintain close communication with the PIU Team, MENA Regional Support Team, and Omani Authorities to share project requirements, coordinate field activities, and facilitate smooth technical collaboration.
