<p> The Shift-in-Charge Engineer is responsible for resolving technical and operational problems through a thorough understanding of plant processes and systems.</p>
<p> Utilizes control system data, historical trends, operational experience, and engineering principles to troubleshoot equipment and process abnormalities.</p>
<p> Conducts or facilitates Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify the underlying causes of incidents and equipment failures and implements appropriate corrective and preventive actions.</p>
<p> Ensures that lessons learned, findings, and recommended actions are effectively communicated to shift personnel and other operating teams to prevent recurrence and promote continuous improvement.</p>

<p>The Shift-in-Charge Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:</p>
<p> Works at Manah Power Plant from the Central Control Room under the supervision of the Operations Superintendent and conducts regular plant rounds as required to effectively perform assigned duties.</p>
<p> Leads and supervises shift personnel to ensure the plant is operated safely, efficiently, and within all environmental, technical, and contractual requirements.</p>
<p> Ensures comprehensive and accurate shift handovers by communicating plant status, ongoing activities, operational risks, and outstanding actions to the incoming shift.</p>
<p> Prepares, reviews, and submits all required operational reports, including but not limited to:</p>
<p>o Spot Market Reports</p>
<p>o Daily Operating Readings Reports</p>
<p>o Night Log and Shift Summary Reports</p>
<p>o Trip and Outage Incident Reports</p>
<p>and distributes them to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.</p>
<p> Maintains effective decision-making and leadership during technical, operational, and personnel-related challenges, ensuring safe and stable plant operation under pressure.</p>
<p> Coordinates with the Load Dispatch Centre (LDC) for plant start-ups, shutdowns, load changes, and planned or forced outages in accordance with grid and contractual requirements.</p>
<p> Supports cross-functional training and development across different operational areas as required by Management, enhancing workforce flexibility and effective utilization of resources.</p>
