The COO leads the asset through Mechanical Completion, Commissioning, Ramp-Up, and into sustained, safe, and reliable commercial production. <p>We are looking for a Head of Software Engineering to lead our Software Factory, shape our engineering direction, and build on AMAN’s capabilities as we take on larger and more complex technology programmes.</p><br><p>Our Software Factory designs and delivers enterprise platforms, digital services, integrations, and AI-enabled applications that support complex and mission-critical operations. As AMAN continues to grow its technology portfolio and regional presence, we are expanding our engineering leadership to support the next stage of our growth.</p><br><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>The Head of Software Engineering will lead the technical direction, engineering capability, and delivery of AMAN’s Software Factory. You will oversee the full software delivery lifecycle, from solution architecture and estimation through engineering, deployment, and production, while providing technical leadership across our teams and client engagements. The role will play a key part in shaping AMAN’s engineering standards, developing our technical talent, supporting strategic opportunities, and delivering high-quality technology solutions for our clients across the region.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li><p>Own the technical and delivery performance of the Software Factory, with clear accountability for quality, timelines, scope, and engineering outcomes across active projects.</p></li><li><p>Lead solution architecture and technical decision-making for complex enterprise systems, integrations, cloud and on-premise deployments, and AI-enabled applications.</p></li><li><p>Build stronger delivery predictability by improving estimation, resource planning, engineering standards, technical risk management, and early escalation of issues.</p></li><li><p>Develop and lead a high-performing engineering team through hiring, coaching, performance management, and clear technical growth paths.</p></li><li><p>Establish consistent engineering practices across code quality, reviews, testing, CI/CD, DevOps, security, documentation, monitoring, and production readiness.</p></li><li><p>Support AMAN’s pre-sales and tender process by shaping technical solutions, estimating effort, identifying risks, and helping determine whether opportunities are technically and commercially viable.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with the AI Factory Lead to ensure AI, data, and agentic capabilities are securely integrated into complete production systems rather than delivered as isolated prototypes.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li><p>10+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility for engineering teams and complex production systems.</p></li><li><p>Strong technical depth across enterprise software architecture, backend development, APIs and integrations, databases, DevOps, cloud and on-premise environments.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience owning delivery across estimation, architecture, engineering execution, production, and technical risk management.</p></li><li><p>Experience leading engineers directly, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and building stronger technical capability within a team.</p></li><li><p>Strong client-facing and commercial judgement, with the ability to explain technical decisions, challenge assumptions, defend estimates, and operate confidently with senior stakeholders.</p></li></ul><br><p><strong>Nice-to-Haves</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience delivering government or regulated-sector technology programmes in Oman or the GCC.</p></li><li><p>Experience integrating AI, machine learning, LLM, RAG, or agentic AI capabilities into production software platforms.</p></li><li><p>Experience working in fixed-price, tender-driven, or milestone-based delivery environments.</p></li></ul>
