<p>ROLE PURPOSE is responsible for carrying out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment within the power and water plant. The role ensures the reliability, availability, efficiency, and safe operation of generating units, desalination systems, auxiliary equipment, and balance-of-plant assets. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1- Troubleshooting Faulty Machinery Stay aware of anything unusual, troubleshoot faulty machinery and diagnose the root cause of the malfunction using diagnostic tools and problem-solving abilities. 2- Mechanical Preventive and Corrective maintenance Performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the power and water plant. This includes inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling rotating and static equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, fans, heat exchangers, gearboxes, and associated auxiliary systems. 3-Contractor Management Coordinate and supervise contractor personnel performing mechanical maintenance activities within the plant. Inspect completed contractor work to verify compliance with technical specifications, maintenance standards, and plant requirements 4- Collaboration on Complex Mechanical Issues Ensure maintenance procedures reflect current best practices, OEM recommendations, safety requirements, and plant operational needs. 5-SOP &amp; Manual Update and Development Support the development, review, and periodic update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, and equipment manuals for mechanical systems and equipment. Ensure SOPs and maintenance documentation are aligned with OEM recommendations, industry best practices, plant requirements, and HSE standards. 6-Document Maintenance and Repairs Daily Log Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately using SAP, Maximo, or other CMMS systems. Prepare maintenance reports and equipment history records. Update equipment inspection checklists and maintenance logs. 7- Coaching New Hires Coach newly hired/Junior Mechanical Technicians and teach them various policies, procedures, and repair techniques. 8- Safety Compliance Comply with all plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments. Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly. 9-Technical Skills Mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis. Pump and compressor maintenance. Turbine auxiliary systems maintenance. <p><br></p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><p>To carry out maintenance, installation, overhauling and modification activities on plant s electrical machinery and equipment in accordance with standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines and quality standards to attain effective functionality and reliability.</p><p>Carry out required daily electrical maintenance work and routine preventative electrical maintenance work according to set schedule and ACWA NOMAC procedures to facilitate continuous operations.</p><p>Monitor the physical condition of all equipment in assigned plant and report non-conformances to Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor to facilitate effective maintenance of all ACWA NOMAC facilities as per set Quality/ HSE standards.</p><p>Respond to electrical failures and implement corrective actions in adherence with procedures and guidelines to reduce downtime and maximize functionality of equipment.</p><p>Trouble shoot using necessary tools which include diagnosis, repairing and testing circuit or wiring faults; locating faults in cables to validate that all connection points and cables are capable of withstanding capacity voltages.</p><p>Diagnose causes of electrical malfunction or failure of operational equipment such as transformers, motors, relays, switches and control and monitoring devices and take corrective measures in collaboration with Electrical Engineer / Electrical Supervisor.</p><p>Read and understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams etc., and apply the knowledge to carry out maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, to prepare for the electrical maintenance to equipment in the assigned area.</p><p>Align, adjust and calibrate equipment according to specifications and to maintain records of repairs, calibrations and tests.</p><p>Inventory:</p><p>Check the necessary stock levels of spare parts to support effective inventory Control.</p><p>Documentation:</p><p>Update the maintenance logbook and record details of work carried out including defaults, problems, various findings and conditions of all equipment to ensure timely availability of information and organised referencing.</p><p>Continous Improvement:</p><p>Contribute in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organisation s standards.</p><p>Policies, Processes, Systems &amp; Procedures</p><p>Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard maintenance procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.</p><p>Health,Safety, Security &amp; Environment</p><p>Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.</p><p>Related Assignments</p><p>Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out.</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>A technical certificate / Associate s Diploma in Electrical maintenance.</li><li>3-5 years experience in electrical maintenance as a technician in installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and installations in a plant environment.</li><li>Practical Knowledge of relevant plant equipment</li><li>Awareness of HSE &amp; quality standards</li><li>Team work and effective collaboration skills</li><li>ISO awareness/working knowledge is preferred</li></ul>
