<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>The Site Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day execution, management, and supervision of potable water pipeline construction activities.&nbsp;</p><p>The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to operate independently on-site, managing field resources, tracking daily progress, and overcoming construction challenges with minimal supervision.&nbsp;</p><p>This role requires seamless communication and reporting to the Project Manager to ensure project deliverables are achieved safely, on schedule, within scope, and in strict compliance with engineering specifications.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Site Management &amp; Execution</p><ul><li>Supervise and drive the daily construction activities of potable water pipeline installations, including excavation, pipe laying, jointing, thrust block construction, backfilling, and compaction.</li><li>Manage onsite sub-contractors, laborers, plant machinery, and material resources individually to ensure efficient field workflows.</li><li>Conduct field inspections to verify that all work aligns with approved engineering drawings, method statements, and structural parameters.</li><li>Direct pressure testing, hydrotesting, flushing, and disinfection protocols for newly laid potable water pipelines before commissioning.</li></ul><p>Reporting &amp; Project Coordination</p><ul><li>Coordinate closely with the Project Manager to track project timelines, resource allocations, and budget milestones.</li><li>Generate and submit precise daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports, documenting work completed, delays, equipment utilization, and labor hours.</li><li>Act as the primary onsite point of contact, resolving field issues independently while escalating complex variations or delays to the Project Manager immediately.</li><li>Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and local authorities during routine site inspections and quality sign-offs.</li></ul><p>Quality Assurance &amp; Safety Compliance</p><ul><li>Maintain strict quality control metrics over all incoming pipeline materials, ensuring proper handling and storage of pipes, valves, and fittings.</li><li>Implement and enforce all company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies onsite, targeting zero incidents.</li><li>Ensure accurate site surveying, alignment verification, and the preservation of levels as dictated by the design specifications.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements &amp; Qualifications</strong></p><p>Experience &amp; Education</p><ul><li><strong>Minimum Experience:</strong> 5+ years of verified site engineering experience dedicated to pipeline infrastructure works, specifically focused on potable water transmission and distribution networks.</li><li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related construction discipline.</li><li><strong>Technical Knowledge:</strong> Deep familiarity with water pipeline materials (such as DI, HDPE, PVC, and Carbon Steel), jointing techniques, valve chambers, testing mechanisms, and standard utility standards.</li></ul><p>Key Competencies</p><ul><li><strong>Autonomy:</strong> Proven ability to manage a construction site individually, handle rapid decision-making under pressure, and drive productivity independently.</li><li><strong>Software Proficiency:</strong> Basic proficiency in AutoCAD for checking layout designs and MS Office (Excel, Word) for administrative reporting.</li><li><strong>Communication:</strong> Strong interpersonal and report-writing skills to build working relationships across sub-contractors and project executives.</li></ul><p>Preferred Assets (Added Advantage)</p><ul><li><strong>Driving License:</strong> Possession of a valid, active driving license is highly preferred and considered a significant advantage for field mobility across site segments.</li></ul>
