<p>To manage patients for whom he/she is responsible to the highest attainable standard of care within the resources of Dallah Hospital while working under the supervision of the consultants in the Diabetes Center, to assess and treat patients attending the Center, or who are consulting any other member of the Center. To see patients by appointment, normally after receiving a written referral (there are no ?emergency? consultations). Appointments by telephone may be accepted if the Chiropodist is satisfied that sufficient details of the problem have been communicated for this to be judged as necessary. Within the priorities mentioned above, the Chiropodist has full control over the appointments for his/her service, judging the patient?s needs on their merits. Responsible for seeing patients in the clinic, however, inpatients may be seen on the wards if necessary, at the discretion of the Chiropodist and the patients with vascular problems should be referred to vascular surgeon and should not be accepted. Responsible for assessing the patients with acute ulcers together with the doctor and the patient will remain under the responsibility of referring physician during the period of treatment. Implements appropriate policies and procedures to achieve the Hospital?s goals and objectives in pursuit of Standards of Care, Quality/ Performance Improvement. Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well informed care decisions. Treats in- and outpatients. Assesses and puts a plan of treatment for in- and outpatients. Gives chest therapy treatment to in- and outpatients based on the needs of the patients and for female patients in pre and post-partum, physiotherapist (female) conducts specific exercises. Gives manual massage and medical exercise to outpatient / inpatient. Returns any machine used in treatment room to its proper place by department porter. Calls the porter of the department to clean and fix the bed and treatment tools after patient received treatment sessions. Calls the porter of the department to clean daily, any equipment used. Available for an on call treatment of patients. Responsible in preparing the room for the next patient if the porter is not around. Implements appropriate policies and procedures to achieve the hospital's goals and objectives in pursuit of Standards of Care, quality performance improvement. Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well informed care decisions.
