Job purpose:
Develop and maintain business relationships with Intermediaries, customers, and prospects to ensure retention of accounts and business growth in a sustainable and profitable way aligned with GIG values and standards. Identify and maximize new business sales opportunities through brokers, build a network. and ensure future sales opportunities and growth while working in close collaboration with key internal GIG teams to offer sound EB products to the Omani market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management responsibility for Employee Benefits business development targets for Group Life and Healthcare insurance products across Oman.
- Prepare and deliver renewal analyses information following thorough claim experience analysis in collaboration with Offering team.
- Monitor the performance of an allocated portfolio segment. Analyze and communicate any abnormal trends with technical explanation and possible suggestions that would need to be conveyed to customers in collaboration with Account Management team.
- Prepare and analyze sales forecast & results reports and presentations to management.
- The role is accountable for achieving an annual sales target across a pre-defined range of products as defined by the requirements of the sales strategy.
- Pursue sales opportunities, receiving sales enquiries and working with their team and the wider organization to respond to tender requests, converting tenders into sales of the company’s products to meet agreed annual sales targets.
- Engage with the underwriting teams to ensure all enquiries are accompanied by a full and complete presentation of underwriting information, competitor’s rates/terms/conditions if available and any other commercial/political information for consideration of underwriters and/or reinsurers.
- Ensure insurance premium is collected in line with the Company’s terms of business liaising with credit control to minimize outstanding debt.
- Perform any other related duties as required to support the activities and overall strategic directions in order to ensure the profitability of the company.
- Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.
- Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure it’s strong presence.
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer & broker relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of sales efforts with overall business objectives.
Minimum requirements of role
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 years of experience in Employee benefits/ Healthcare and /or Group Life.
- Strong GCC market knowledge of products and pricing approach , specifically in Oman market
- Understanding of underwriting, policy T&C, risk assessment, authority levels and protocols.
- Extensive regional experience in Sales & Account Management
- Broker relationship experience in Oman
