Function Head - Cabin Crew Operations

Role Objective

The Cabin Crew Operations Function Head will play an important role in ensuring efficient and effective performance of

cabin crew operations of Oman Air. The Function Head will ensure efficient and effective deployment of crew resources

and develop and implement effective strategies which optimize existing policies and strengthen the natural synergy

between airline sector and hospitality sector service delivery. The position will also ensure an elevated work ethic and

service culture among cabin crew—a premium hospitality mindset among cabin crew.


Duties and Responsibilities

1.Manage the administrative and operational areas of Crew Planning and Crew Control sub-sections

2.Oversee the smooth operation and welfare of approx. 50% of WY employees with timely recruitments and promotions while balancing crew availability based on commercial and operational needs

3.Outline the Training strategy, training material, trainers, training delivery style etc. with consistent reporting

4.Monitor the wellbeing of cabin crew and implement Welfare strategies to motivate and increase productivity.

5.Ensure that all staff within the department follow established standards, policies, and procedures

6.Steer for automated modes for accurate record keeping and reporting for all sections within the department

7.Drive and uplift of all crew touch points for better productivity and processes

8.Overall supervision of daily cabin crew operations, including safety and operational matters

9.Ensuring implementation of operational documentation, make the necessary recommendations and report to VP-FO or his deputy any major non-compliance to company policies, regulations and/or safety practices.

10.Refer to the updated Cabin Crew Policy Manual (CCPM).

11.Be responsible for Cabin-EFB/iPad Manual and Administration.

12.Participate in the Safety Action Group Cabin Crew Operations or nominate a deputy and ensure follow up on the meeting minutes and the action needed.

13.Ensure overall supervision on receiving, processing, and responding to Cabin Crew trip reports (CDVR) in a timely manner.

14.Develop an effective conflict resolution process within the department and intervene as needed.

15.Ensure strict oversight of cabin crew performance: punctuality, sick leave, attendance and absenteeism, grooming standards, and cabin safety.

16.Track and manage cabin crew records with fair leave plans, flight rosters and administrative procedures.

17.Ensure that all cabin crew are regularly accessing the Flight WEB system and are aware of updates to relevant policies and procedures.

18.Liaise closely with the cabin crew scheduler to effectively manage the cabin crew roster and submit staff occurrence reports to MCPC on a weekly basis.

19.Coordinate with HRBP/Administration and other relevant departments to manage crew transportation, crew accommodation, inspections and relocations as required.

20.Ensure the allocation of a pre-flight briefing areas with privacy.

21.Ensure the Cabin Crew rosters are (1) designated in a manner to reduce the hazards caused by Human Factor and

Human Performance or (2) in compliance with CAR-OPS1 Subpart Q as applicable.

22.Chair the cabin crew Disciplinary Evaluation Board.

23.Review cabin crew ‘appeals’ and evaluate based on established guidelines and process.

24.Review Cabin Operation capital, manpower and operating budget before submission to COO.

25. Any other tasks assigned by management.


Education & Experience

➢Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Post-graduate degree would be an asset

➢ 10-12+ years of airline experience in a management role with a minimum of 5 years of

experience ideally in crew operations

Ideal Experience:

➢ In-depth understanding of airlines operations, systems, functionality, and industry

standards

➢ Ability to lead and motivate a diverse and multicultural team

➢ Exposure to customer touch points like Customer Relations, Product, Quality Control,

Ground Ops, Call Centre, Lounge and Loyalty in a leading position

➢ Familiarity with airline-specific regulations (i.e., IATA / ICAO, etc.)

➢ Demonstrated success in collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to drive

the cross-functional initiatives

➢Strong communication and leadership skills and proven leadership abilities, including

the capacity to lead functional teams

➢ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment / transformational setting

➢ Organized and efficient and a strong problem solver and decision-maker

➢ Proficiency in English (must) and Arabic (preferred)
