JOB PURPOSE:
To provide strategic leadership and overall management of Oman Catering Company, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of Oman Air. The role involves steering the company towards profitability, operational excellence, and growth while ensuring the highest standards of service, compliance, and employee engagement
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for Oman Catering Company, focusing on growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
2. Align the company’s objectives with Oman Air’s broader vision and strategic goals.
3. Drive the expansion of catering services, exploring new markets and revenue streams, including aviation and non-aviation sectors.
4. Oversee the implementation of sustainability initiatives in operations, emphasizing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.
5. Maintain and strengthen partnerships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure long-term success.
6. Serve as the company’s ambassador in public forums, fostering a positive reputation and brand image.
Operational Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all operational functions, including procurement, production, quality assurance, and service delivery, ensuring compliance with international standards (HACCP, ISO, etc.).
2. Monitor financial performance, implement cost-saving measures, and ensure profitability through effective budget management.
3. Lead the company in adopting innovative technologies and systems to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
4. Ensure that infrastructure, equipment, and resources are effectively maintained and optimized for long-term use.
5. Review and approve major contracts, agreements, and partnerships to safeguard the company’s interests.
People and Organizational Development Responsibilities:
1. Build a high-performing executive team by recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top talent.
2. Champion a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the organization.
3. Oversee the development and implementation of HR policies that promote employee engagement, diversity, and inclusivity.
4. Facilitate leadership development programs to nurture future leaders within the organization.
5. Ensure the company complies with labour laws and fosters a safe, supportive workplace environment.
Governance and Risk Management Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical standards governing the catering and aviation industries.
2. Identify and mitigate risks associated with operations, finances, and reputation.
3. Report periodically to the Board of Directors and Oman Air’s leadership on business performance, challenges, and opportunities.
4. Establish robust internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and interests.
5. Lead crisis management efforts to ensure business continuity during emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Hospitality Management, Food Science, or a related field.
2. Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a related discipline is highly preferred.
Minimum Experience:
1. At least 15 years of progressive experience in catering, hospitality, or aviation, with a minimum of 8 years in a senior leadership role.
2. Proven track record of managing large-scale operations and achieving financial and operational excellence.
3. Extensive experience working in international and multicultural environments.
4. Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, including food safety standards (HACCP, ISO certifications).
5. Demonstrated success in strategic planning, business development, and stakeholder management.
