Sales Manager - Muscat, Oman

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Sales Team in Oman. In this role you are expected to manage on a commercial level the sales activities within the Country / territory. Deliver revenue for Qatar Airways, maximizing the return from existing market whilst identifying and penetrating new markets where appropriate. Responsible for the effective management of all staff and company’s assets within the assigned station. Responsible for overall achievement of the assigned revenue targets along with the defined commercial KPI’s.

Role Accountabilities
  • Accountable for the strategic direction of QR’s Corporate/ Trade/ Leisure sales in the country and defining the optimal way to increase sales by recommendations for routes, timings, aircraft type and other product development.
  • Formulates and implements station sales strategy, including local corporate dealing policy, to maximize short- and long-term revenue opportunities, reduce cost of sale and generate channel shift where appropriate.
  • Accountable for optimization of QR’s resources in the station.
  • Spearheads development and implementation of initiatives in the station that help build Qatar Airways global brand increase industry esteem and preference and establish ownership of the market space.
  • Accountable for optimization of QR’s resources in the station.
  • Recommend the B2B sales strategy for the assigned territory. Accountable for negotiating B2B agreements within assigned territories (including PLBs, JMFs, commissions, corporate contracts).
  • Responsible for delivering targets and KPI for the sales team.
  • Monitor and provide feedback to stakeholders on competitor pricing and promotional activity within the assigned territory.
  • Manage allocated expenditure budgets of the assigned territories to ensure maximum return of investment for every expense.
  • Provide input to Digital and Marketing team to maximize QR exposure and brand presence in assigned territory.
  • Ensure QR has optimal presence in sales campaigns and public events in the station, gathering market intelligence and sales leads for distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Review management information/network data with team to drive revenue and seek out tactical revenue opportunities.
  • Act as the primary legal representative in assigned territory.
  • Manages marketing funds and other expenditure budgets of the station to ensure maximum value.
  • Accountable for optimizing Corporate deals, Sales and Marketing Agreements within the station.
  • Responsible for the production of short/medium-term local station sales and channel plan including revenue targets as a part of the integrated sales strategy.
  • Responsible for implementation and adherence to groups policies and procedures that are developed in consultation with head office.
  • Ensures development and maintenance of long-term strategic relationships with Qatar Airways corporate/ leisure/trade clients in the station.
  • Manages relationships with other airlines, trade bodies, government and civil aviation and general public at the station. Maintain high level relationships with key industry bodies, diplomatic missions, governments, airports within the assigned territory.
  • Represent QR and participates on important clients calls to provide a management presence and to support sales team in closing the business.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of similar experience
  • Extensive commercial experience within the travel industry
  • Experience in selling of airline, hotel, cruise or car products, together with good knowledge of the geographic areas within the scope of coverage
  • Budgetary and planning experience.
  • Strong sales ability and commercial acumen
  • PC literate with knowledge of Word/PowerPoint/Excel.
  • A proven ability to negotiate and work within a multi-national and multi-cultural environment with good leadership skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
