<p>PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES</p><p>1. Carry out interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data from the historical seismic databank and from new data received from seismic surveys. Identifies subsurface structure/trapping mechanism and reservoir distribution utilizing geophysical software packages such as Petrel, Geo-Graphix, DSD etc.</p><p>2. Generating plausible geophysical and geological concepts for leads and prospects in all possible plays, with appropriate risks, volume and commercial analysis and in support of a growing inventory of exploration portfolio.</p><p>3. Establish and maintain up-to-date Exploration Prospect Portfolio for all prospects for all levels, shallow to deep plays.</p><p>4. Identify new oil and gas prospects based on comprehensive technical work mainly Geophysical and Geological, from a regional prospective to block and field/prospect level.</p><p>5. Perform detail evaluation of identified prospect to progress to well proposal, presenting to the Management and shareholders to seek approval to drill Exploration wells in which clear conclusions and recommendations are required to the management to make decisions.</p><p>7. Work closely with Exploration geologist and reservoir engineer on analysis work of new found traps to ascertain the most likely locations of reservoir tops and subsequent locations of potential wells.</p><p>8. Identify optimal drilling locations using knowledge of 3D seismic interpretation and knowledge of regional and prospect specific petroleum systems.</p><p>9. Seamless coordination of all exploration-related operations between relevant internal and external parties.</p><p>10. Involvement on Tender documentation preparation and evaluation of bids for any study pertaining seismic; such as seismic data acquisition, survey plan, Processing, Reservoir Characterization, VSP, prospect identification etc.</p><p>11. Follow up and Supervise specialist or outsourced studies of seismic evaluation.</p><p>12. Stays up to date with current developments in seismic and geophysical mapping techniques and software. The role will also involve participating in the assessment of new technology, methodologies and workflows</p><p>13. Provide mentorship, guidance and control as required to junior Daleel geoscience staff with respect to geophysical methods and evaluation procedures.</p><p>14. Follows and promotes all QHSSE policies of the Company at all times.</p><p>KEY CHALLENGES:</p><p>Ability to work in both; Exploration and Development environments</p><p>Supporting day-to-day operations on well delivering for Exploration/Appraisal wells</p><p>Works closely with other team members as and when required.</p><p>To complete the company KPI by drilling required number of Exploration wells per year.</p><p>Ability to interact with internal and external clients</p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p>JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE<br>Minimum Academic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geophysics or a related discipline<br>Minimum Work experience: At least 12 years experience in Geophysics or Seismic Interpretation in a recognized oil company and integration of seismic, well and other data.<br>Knowledge of Oman plays and Petroleum systems.<br>Proven Exploration record in finding new oil and gas resources.<br>Experience upstream E&amp;P professional with familiarity in petroleum systems analysis, well data analysis, geological interpretation and prospect evaluation.<br>Maturation and development of new prospects.<br>Experience in workstation-based seismic interpretation from regional to prospect level.<br>Awareness of seismic acquisition and processing<br>An understanding of principles of rock physics and quantitative seismic interpretation would be desirable.<br>Must be a technically established engineer in the Geophysics and well skilled in mentoring and motivating new Geophysicist.

<section><p class="heading jdMain">Job Description</p><p class="heading">Roles &amp; Responsibilities</p><div class="paragraph"><p> <strong>Reporting to :</strong> Director of Exploration Planning and Chief Exploration Officer</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Role Objective:</strong> </p> <p>Due to the growing number of pipeline projects, MDO is seeking Principal Mining Engineer to lead Technical Studies to own and drive the technical study process and to bridge between the Exploration, Business Development (BD) and Project Development (PD) teams in advancing projects through successive stages of maturity.</p> <p>As a suitably qualified and experienced Principal Mining Engineer reporting to the Director of Exploration Planning and Chief Exploration Officer, you will initiate, scope, lead and quality-assure multidisciplinary technical studies across the portfolio, integrating geology, mining, metallurgy and processing, infrastructure, environmental and economic inputs into investment-ready deliverables. You will manage external consultants and contractors, govern study quality against stage-gate criteria, and support the BD and PD teams through the full project lifecycle (scoping, pre-feasibility, feasibility, project assessment, remediation, and decommissioning/closure). Regular site visits and close coordination with a range of consultants will be required.</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong> </p> <p>1. Initiating, scoping, leading and coordinating scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies across the project pipeline, working with the BD &amp; PD teams and external consultants</p> <p>2. Defining study scope, work breakdown, schedules, budgets and stage-gate deliverables, and governing study progress and quality against agreed criteria</p> <p>3. Integrating multidisciplinary inputs (geology, mining, metallurgy and processing, infrastructure, environmental and social, and economics) into coherent, decision-ready study outputs</p> <p>4. Selecting, managing and quality-assuring external consultants and contractors engaged in study work</p> <p>5. Leading technical-economic evaluation, including capital and operating cost estimation, cash flow modelling and NPV/IRR analysis, together with trade-off and options studies</p> <p>6. Reviewing and challenging advanced exploration projects by working closely with the Resource and Project Geologists to confirm study-readiness</p> <p>7. Directing and reviewing short-, medium- and long-term mine design, LOM planning and scheduling produced in-house or by consultants</p> <p>8. Providing technical support to the BD &amp; PD teams through project execution phases, including M&amp;A, due diligence and JV technical reviews</p> <p>9. Reporting and presenting study outcomes and recommendations to management and investment decision forums</p> <p>10. May be assigned to coordinate special or ad hoc projects as needed.</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Education: </strong> </p> <p> Bachelor s degree in mining engineering and/or a related technical discipline (e.g. geology, metallurgy, mineral processing). A postgraduate qualification or MBA will be an added advantage.</p> <p> <strong>Experience:</strong> </p> <p> Minimum 10 years overall experience across mining studies and projects, spanning multiple commodities including base and precious metals, chromite, and industrial minerals (dolomite, gypsum, silica, limestone), with several years in a study management or technical lead capacity</p> <p> Initiating, leading and delivering technical studies (scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility) through formal stage-gate processes</p> <p> Managing multidisciplinary study teams and external consultants from concept through to feasibility and execution</p> <p> Directing mine design, LOM planning and scheduling for both open pit and underground projects</p> <p> Leading project budgeting and technical-economic evaluation (feasibility studies, cash flow analysis, NPV &amp; IRR).</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>Special Skills &amp; Knowledge:</strong> </p> <p> Leading technical studies, trade-off studies, cost estimation and project evaluation through stage-gate decision processes.</p> <p> Knowledge of a broad range of planning, operations and study-management practices.</p> <p> Sound technical grounding across mining methods, mine engineering and the principal study disciplines (geology, processing, infrastructure, environmental and economics).</p> <p> Good understanding of Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve estimation and reporting.</p> <p> Ability to direct and review work produced in mine planning software packages.</p> <p> Knowledge of mine capital and operating cost estimation and economic modelling.</p> <p> Strong stakeholder management, with experience in and / or an inclination for business development.</p> <p> Working familiarity with mining software such as Deswik, Micromine, Minesight and Vulcan, sufficient to scope, review and quality-assure outputs including stope and schedule optimization.</p> <p> Experience in due diligence activities and auditing.</p> <p> NI 43-101 and JORC technical reporting.</p> <p> </p> <p> <strong>ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATION /CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:</strong> </p> <p> Competent or Qualified Person status (e.g. AusIMM, AIG or equivalent recognised under JORC / NI 43-101) is desirable.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p></div></section>
