Team Supervision

•  Provide guidance on the job training for junior colleagues and conduct knowledge sharing to facilitate achievement of team objectives and completion of tasks in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
  

• Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets and ensure all activities are carried out in line with the approved guidelines while promptly reporting on any variances to management.
  

• Provide input and implement policies, systems and procedure for the assigned section so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service. Day-To-Day Operations
  

• Participate in identifying and planning for resources, material/equipment required for assigned maintenance and management activities according to preventive maintenance schedule, work requisitions or notifications in urgent and emergency situations and coordinate for the timely availability of all requirements.
  

• Carry out effective day- to- day scheduling of works and necessary resources while assigning and reviewing work performed by craftsmen to ensure adherence to defined operational requirements and quality standards.
  

• Organize fabrication, replacement parts, equipment, tools, or fixtures for all sections of the plant in order to ensure the smooth operation of the plants.
  

• Lead the day to day monitoring of maintenance activities as planned ensuring safe and quality execution of maintenance work in accord with defined HSE standards.
  

• Optimize maintenance operations, using best available tools and procedures in order to maximize equipment availability.
  

• Inspect, test and validate the condition of equipment upon completion of repairs to confirm readiness, compliance to quality standards.
  

•  Ensure seamless communication across shifts and updating self of the status of plant requirements while managing resources for timely availability of “on-call” duty to support uninterrupted operations and manage emergency maintenance requirements.
  

• Draft scopes of work for the tender documentation in line with defined guidelines.
  

• Analyse work history and recommend changes to maintenance plans, while maintaining historical records on data base for ease of reference.
  

• Manage the spare parts inventory for accuracy and condition while promptly alerting for timely replenishments.
  

• Manage the documentation management system inventory for accuracy and condition.
  

• Carry out effective coordination between contractors and tenants to support timely completion of tasks as per defined quality standards and specifications.
  

• Provide engineering assistance to the project team for design and specifications of new equipment, modifications or projects ensuring adoption of best fitted industry practices to facilitate effective achievement of project requirements.
  

• Perform site inspections on regular basis to follow-up on work progress of all assigned engineering aspects ensuring that work progress is carried out as per approved work schedule, and that appropriate resources are allocated as per the contractual agreement.
  

• Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices taking into account global best standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
  

• Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
  

•  Prepare sectional statements and reports timely and accurately to meet SIP Group and department requirements, policies and standards.
  

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Port Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering Disciplines.
  

• 0 to 3 years’ experience in a similar function.
  

• Good knowledge in written and spoken English.
  

• Working knowledge of established computerized planning and scheduling tools such as, SAP, Primavera, Maximo, Microsoft Project, Document Management systems and materials management software.
  

•  Analytical and project management skills.
  

• Good skills in drafting reports and maintenance plans.
  

• Excellent skills with PC software, such as, MS Word, Excel, Project, Graphics/Presentation packages, etc.
  

• Display leadership qualities in the management of his duties, training employees if any and the supervision of contractors and employees.
  

• Good judgment skills.
  

• Ability to accept new concepts and policies aimed at maintaining the plant at minimum cost and optimum efficiency.
  

• Working knowledge of mechanical systems.
  

• Working knowledge of electrical systems.
  

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  

• Project management.
  

• Fluency in Arabic and English both oral and written.
