Process Control Engineer [Relocation to Italy or Croatia]

Responsibilities:



• Software development for process optimization control systems, involved in one or more of these main sectors:



• Software development for visual applications including web applications



• Software development for real-time data acquisition, closed-loop control, and setup optimization



• Process modeling



• Data analysis





All these tasks are subject to continuous improvement. The candidate may also have the opportunity to collaborate in innovation projects. In particular, the last two tasks include the need for being able/interested in reading scientific literature in the field and collaborating with universities.





Education:



• Preferably a Degree in Electronic Engineering/Computer Science Engineering.



• Degree in Mechanical, Material, or Management Engineering with an aptitude for software programming is also desired.



• A PhD in control systems technology is a plus.





Languages:



• Good knowledge of spoken and written English (B1 at least)





Technical Skills:



• Previous experience in hot flat steel plants is mandatory (not long or other).



• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a software developer with a good knowledge of Object-Oriented principles.



• Experience with source version control and project management systems like Microsoft DevOps.



• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and the metal industry is a plus.





Previous expertise in one or more of the following programming fields is appreciated:





• Software development for visual applications:



• Microsoft Visual Studio C#



• Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation



• Angular / TypeScript / ASP.NET



• Android mobile applications



• Software process modeling and control:



• Microsoft Visual Studio C++



• Python and/or MATLAB



• Design and maintenance of databases:



• Relational DB (Oracle, Microsoft SQLServer, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, etc.)



• NoSQL DB (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.)





Soft Skills:



• Teamwork and collaboration with a variety of stakeholders (internal & external)



• Availability to travel



• Interest in working with a multicultural team
