SME Product Development Manager - Retail Banking

Role Statement

  • To assist in product development and sale of SME products within Retail Branches and Digital Channels. Working closely with sales, marketing and support to achieve monthly revenue and customer satisfaction goals within Retail Banking.
  • To drive sustainable growth and acquisition of new customers for the SME Banking through the creation and development of SME segment products and propositions.
  • To achieve and develop, lead the implementation of the SME segment strategy in line with the overall Retail Banking Strategy to ensure achievement of profitability targets through revenue maximization.
  • Working with sales, marketing and support to achieve revenue and customer satisfaction goals.


Key Objectives

  • To drive product development liaising with insurance partner, net customer growth, and market share growth, explore and discover new ideas and formulate business strategies.
  • To drive customer-led propositions for the SME Banking Segment by developing a pipeline of value adding customer solutions to include customer experience, products, and service offers.
  • To ensure strong cross- selling of existing and new SME loan products to existing and new clients and in this process, maintain effective liaison with all relevant business units in the Bank.
  • Championing the delivery of consistent, seamless and trusted customer service to ensure customer retention and loyalty.
  • Facilitate training programs to enhance product knowledge to the Retail Banking teams, branch staff and sales teams on SME Banking Products.
  • Maintains a detailed and current understanding of the industry (at SME Banking, current market structures, regulatory requirements and issues) to ensure that opportunities are realized, and the risks mitigated.
  • Ensure adequate product infrastructure, sales training, sales support at all times.
  • Monitor marketing performance and suggest ways to improve efficiency and differentiate from competitors.
  • Define and enhance SME product features, as well as related process requirements.


Candidate Specifications

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in marketing or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years solid marketing experience in banking industry preferably in SME business.
  • Attentive to details, able to work independently, handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proactive and adapt to dynamic environment.
  • Good analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with customer centricity mindset.
  • Good project management and selling skills.
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken
  • Proficiency in MS office application.
