Job Summary:
The PMO for AMI Smart Metering will be responsible for managing and coordinating the various projects related to the deployment and operation of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems. The role requires a strong background in project management, a deep understanding of smart metering technologies, and experience in utility operations or similar industries.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the utilities sector or in projects involving smart metering or similar technologies.
Experience with large-scale AMI or smart grid projects.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance related to smart metering.
Familiarity with cybersecurity considerations in AMI systems.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of AMI systems, smart metering technologies, and related software platforms. Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, or similar.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of AMI smart metering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including utility companies, technology vendors, regulatory bodies, and other relevant parties, to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues related to AMI projects and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage project resources effectively, ensuring that team members have the necessary tools and support to complete their tasks.
- Budgeting and Financial Tracking: Develop and monitor project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring financial accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Reporting: Provide regular status updates, project reports, and dashboards to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, milestones, and areas requiring attention.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations and best practices.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve project management processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in delivering AMI projects.
