Overview
Our client is one of the world's largest and most specialised construction groups. With a long-standing and growing presence in the Middle East and in particular Oman, they are now seeking to permanently appoint a Contract Manager for transport infrastructure projects in the Muscat region.
This opportunity would suit an aspiring contract manager from a quantity surveying or engineering background who has had exposure to claims and disputes on civil infrastructure projects.
The Role
With the business expanding across Oman, they are looking to appoint a Contract Manager to work directly under the Middle East's contract management and legal leadership team. Prior experience working in the Middle East is advantageous but not essential. Ideally, you will have worked within the international construction environment. Your project experience should include one or more of the following - tunnels, water, highway, rail, stations, and complex build.
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Contract administration
- Subcontract management
- Contract management
- Claims
- Variation Orders
- EOTs
- Claims management
- Contract drafting and negotiation
- Dispute resolution and/or dispute boards
- Arbitration preparation
You
As someone with a developing experience in Contract Management, you will be a degree-qualified quantity surveyor, engineer, or construction professional. The role would not suit someone from purely a legal or economic background. You will know about employer and subcontractor management, contract negotiation and drafting, claims and variation orders, and dispute resolution. Furthermore, you have a stable work history and will be seeking a permanent appointment with the business in Oman and wider Middle East. Fluency in both spoken and written English is essential. You will be site-based with a generous leave allowance.
Interview Process & Start Date
The interview process will include 3 stages and the required start date is as soon as reasonably possible.
