Hotel: Aloft Muscat - located near Muscat International Airport
Location: Muscat, Sultanate of Oman

Aloft Muscat is a modern lifestyle hotel strategically located close to Muscat International Airport and key business and convention areas. The hotel offers a vibrant, design-led experience aligned with Aloft brand standards and caters to business, leisure, and airline-related guests.

  • Food & Beverage:
    • All-day dining restaurant
    • 1 specialty restaurant/bar concept

  • Market Position: Mid-upscale lifestyle hotel with strong F&B and social spaces

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of Aloft Muscat. This role oversees all aspects of hotel operations, with a strong focus on Food & Beverage, guest experience, team engagement, and commercial performance, while ensuring full compliance with Marriott brand standards and local regulations.

This opportunity is open to first-time General Managers with a strong operational background - ideally from F&B-driven lifestyle hotels who are ready to step into full property leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead and oversee all hotel operations including Rooms, F&B, Engineering, Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Human Resources
  • Ensure seamless day-to-day operations with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and service consistency
  • Maintain brand standards, operational audits, and Marriott compliance requirements

Food & Beverage Excellence

  • Personally champion F&B operations, innovation, quality, and profitability
  • Drive performance of the all-day dining and specialty restaurant concepts
  • Monitor cost controls, menu engineering, supplier management, and service delivery

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Develop and execute annual business plans and operating budgets
  • Drive GOP, revenue growth, market positioning, and cost efficiencies
  • Analyze financial reports and implement corrective actions as needed

People & Culture

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a team of approximately /80 associates
  • Build a strong performance culture with clear accountability and engagement
  • Ensure succession planning, training, and compliance with Oman labor laws

Guest Experience & Brand Representation

  • Act as the ambassador of the Aloft brand within Muscat
  • Personally engage with guests, corporates, and key stakeholders
  • Handle escalated guest concerns and protect brand reputation

Safety, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with Marriott policies, health & safety standards, and local regulations
  • Oversee risk management, security, and sustainability initiatives

Desired Candidate Profile

Candidate Profile Experience & Background

  • Strong operations background, ideally with significant Food & Beverage leadership experience
  • Experience within lifestyle or select-service hotels preferred
  • First-time General Manager candidates welcome, provided they demonstrate readiness and maturity for full property leadership

Skills & Competencies

  • Hands-on, commercial, and guest-focused leadership style
  • Strong financial acumen with proven budgeting and cost-control experience
  • Excellent people leadership and talent development skills
  • Ability to balance brand standards with local market realities

Language & Cultural Fit

  • Arabic speaker required
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Solid understanding of Middle East hospitality culture and guest expectations
