MD/ Chief Executive Officer – International Mining Operations (Oman-Based)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished mining executive to take the helm of a growing international mining group with operations in Oman and a global exploration footprint. Reporting to the Board of an Australian-listed (ASX) parent company, this role will shape the strategic and operational direction of the organisation’s Omani assets while driving performance, compliance, and value creation across the business.

The Role

As the most senior executive in-country, you’ll oversee all facets of mining, exploration, and operational management — delivering on production targets, ensuring compliance with local and international standards, and aligning the business with the company’s global strategy.

You will lead a high-performing team, foster strong relationships with regulators, investors, and local partners, and drive initiatives that enhance shareholder value and operational excellence.

Key Focus Areas

• Strategic Leadership: Execute the Board-approved strategy and identify new growth opportunities across exploration, development, and M&A.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee mining, processing, and logistics functions with a focus on productivity, safety, and cost efficiency.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the principal representative to regulators, ministries, and communities, ensuring transparent communication and trusted partnerships.
• Governance & Compliance: Uphold best practice governance under ASX standards and lead ESG and sustainability initiatives.
• Financial Stewardship: Manage budgets, forecasts, and capital programs while maintaining financial discipline and shareholder confidence.
• Leadership Development: Build capability within the local leadership team and champion talent development and succession planning.

About You

You’re a seasoned mining executive with a proven ability to lead complex, multi-site operations in challenging jurisdictions. Your background includes:

• 15+ years in the mining industry, including 5+ years in an executive leadership position.
• Experience with publicly listed (ideally ASX) companies.
• Strong technical and commercial acumen in mining operations, exploration, and project development.
• Demonstrated success in driving performance, managing stakeholder relationships, and leading with integrity.
• International experience, ideally within the Middle East, Africa, or Asia.
