We are seeking a QHSE Manager for a leading international onshore drilling contractor in Oman.
The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of QHSE practices to ensure compliance and alignment with regulatory standards and drive the implementation of standardized QHSE policies, practices, and procedures across all sites
Responsibilities:
- Lead the QHSE Department in Oman to manage the development and implementation of QHSE policies, strategies, and systems in alignment with corporate objectives, customer requirements and industry standards and regulations.
Strategic:
- Define the corporate QHSE strategy in alignment with the company’s corporate strategy, business direction and desired future state.
- Define the operating framework, policies, and quality standards for the QHSE Function
- Measure performance against set targets for the Organization and provides guidance for achievement of targets.
- Execute the directions and orders of Senior Manager QHSE.
Tactical:
- Define organization development and effectiveness standards to ensure that the QHSE function can support business needs by means of effective communication and credible delivery of programs.
- Drive the implementation of standardized QHSE policies, practices, and procedures across all sites.
- Establish, design, and continuously improve the company’s QMS and HSE-Management System to ensure it performs effectively and up to the company’s standards.
- Run QHSE risk analyses to develop recommendations for improvement for the Organization.
Operational:
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and audit of the QMS and HSE management systems to ensure smooth QHSE operations.
- Oversee the implementation of QHSE practices to ensure compliance and alignment with regulatory standards.
- Manage external audits and guide the QHSE Department to execute recommendations to ensure conformance to HSE MS compliance.
- Oversee the implementation of QHSE audit schedules for Operating Groups and Sub-Contractors to ensure they are being conducted properly.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of HSE (Safety) Cases, bid/tenders’ reviews, and creation of HSE bridging documents.
- Develop Corporate Crisis Management Plans and direct emergency preparedness, ensuring adequacy of resources for efficient emergency response, and the Evacuation & Emergency Response Procedures (ERP) are being followed.
Product / Process Improvement:
- Proactively evaluate the effectiveness of processes utilized within the designated department and make and implement improvements as needed to increase efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory: Bachelors’ degree in relevant field
- Preferred: Post graduate degree
- Preferred additions:
- BCSP credential and/or NEBOSH Diploma
- Certified Quality & HSE Auditor
- Quality & HSE related accreditation & certifications - ASP, CSP, CRSP, NEBOSH, IOSH, IIRSM, CHCM, CQM, and CQA with documented continual professional development (CPD) track record
Experience:
- A minimum of 10-12 years of relevant experience
- 7-8 years’ experience in managerial or supervisory role
- Proven experience preferably within the Drilling industry
