Director of Strategy & Corporate Planning- OMRAN Corporate

Purpose

Planning Director is resposible to direct and manage the development of company Business Plan as well as to assist in monitoring progress of the plans with the objective to ensure the alignment between the developed business plan and company strategy, in accordance with budgetary guidelines and rules of the Company.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Contribution

Corporate Strategy: Plan and develop the corporate long-term strategy in order to materialize the Company’s vision and objectives.

Business Plan: Direct subordinates in organizing and developing the Company’s business plan through providing them with the proper guideline and information to ensure the alignment of business plans with corporate strategy.

Group

OMRAN being a Group/Holding level government-owned company, it is expected from all its staff members to provide services within the domain of their Job Description to OMRAN, its subsidiary companies and its other assets, whenever required and requested by their Line Managers in accordance to the company’s needs and as seen appropriate by the senior management of OMRAN.

Operational

  • Understanding and directing the Group’s strategy and mission.
  • Planning, Coordinating, and communicating Group’s strategy internally and externally with relevant stakeholders.
  • Developing long-term strategic priorities and goals for the Group in collaboration with the Group’s executive management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Developing plans to executive the Group business strategy and ensure that the business objectives and 5-year strategic KPIs are achieved.
  • Translating the long-term strategic plans into yearly initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Providing required support and assistance for day-to-day strategic planning activities.
  • Driving and ensuring alignment on the Group operating model, goals, and investments with the Group mandate, strategic priorities and plans.
  • Aligning departmental goals, processes, and resources with the Group strategy.
  • Assessing the Group performance as per the business plan and approved KPIs.
  • Continuous monitoring and analysis of business environment in Oman, the region, and globally as well as tourism and urban development trends that are relevant to the Group in order to identify new business opportunities.
  • Construct forecasts and analytical models for new business opportunities within government and private sectors and communicate the findings to the senior management on a regular basis.
  • Identifying business threats and opportunities and producing the proper reports and other communication mediums to the executive management.
  • Developing new business opportunities and maintaining long-term relationships with Government and private entities.
  • Managing corporate performance, reporting and problem solving.
  • Tourism real estate and Economic impact and landscape.
  • Tourism and real estate market conditions, analysis and forecasts.
  • International affiliations and praetorships with private and public institutes WTTC, UNWTO, and other key influential organizations and bodies.
  • Economical and investment analysis and familiar with global and local strategic and competitiveness indexes that helpmessure socio-economic development includes UNSDGs, Vision2040, National Tourism Strategy.

Budgets and Plans:

Cope financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, economics, finance or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in the field.
