As an Operations Manager at the Grand Millennium Muscat, you play a pivotal role in evaluating and aligning with the short and long-term goals of the hotel. This position holds overall responsibility for achieving hotel financial performance and fostering engagement among guests and colleagues.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Stay informed about the business, competition, industry trends, new products, practices, systems, and relevant legislation impacting the hotel industry.
- Consult with direct reports on operational needs and opportunities.
- Identify and communicate potential revenue opportunities to department heads, influencing the development of plans to capitalize on those opportunities.
- Manage departments to consistently drive total hotel revenue, maximize profitability, and enhance colleague and guest engagement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the rooms’ strategic plan, marketing plan and budget to ensure alignment with the business strategy and priorities.
- Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the hotel's annual budget, business/marketing plan, forecasts, and manning guide in line with the hotel's objectives.
- Support the company’s sustainability initiatives and contribute to the company’s expansion by developing the Talent Pipeline.
- Sustain high performance levels in the department by establishing SMART goals and expectations aligned with company priorities and hotel goals.
- Maintain high visibility and interact with guests, potential clients, owning company representatives, government officials, travel industry representatives, suppliers, competitors, and members of the local community daily.
- Obtain feedback on the overall experience, service levels, and satisfaction, building long-term relationships.
- Respond effectively to and resolve guest problems and complaints in a timely manner.
- Review the Guest Satisfaction survey results and other data to identify areas for improvement in service, products, and promotions. Discuss findings with reporting department heads and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken.
- Provide input and support the overall sales strategy; offer recommendations to meet yield and penetration objectives; anticipate long-term planning needs.
- Participate in weekly inspections and public area walk-throughs to ensure well-maintained physical facilities and the implementation of preventative maintenance processes.
