Job Overview<\/b>
<\/h3>The Instrument Technician will be responsible for the installation, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a wide range of instrumentation and control systems used in industrial operations. The role demands sound technical knowledge of instruments, sensors, transmitters, PLC/DCS systems, and related field equipment. The ideal candidate should possess practical experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and safety of instrumentation assets across plant operations.

Key Responsibilities<\/b>
<\/h3>Install, configure, calibrate, and commission instrumentation and control devices including transmitters, switches, pressure gauges, flow meters, and sensors.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on field instruments, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
<\/p><\/li>
Troubleshoot instrumentation issues, diagnose faults, and replace defective components or wiring.
<\/p><\/li>
Execute loop checking, signal testing, and functional testing during start-up, shutdown, or maintenance activities.
<\/p><\/li>
Assist in PLC/DCS system integration, configuration updates, and logic verification under supervision of senior engineers.
<\/p><\/li>
Interpret engineering drawings, P&ID diagrams, loop diagrams, and technical manuals to perform maintenance tasks.
<\/p><\/li>
Ensure compliance with safety standards, calibration procedures, and quality assurance protocols.
<\/p><\/li>
Maintain work logs, calibration records, and maintenance documentation in accordance with company policies.
<\/p><\/li>
Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and operations teams to support equipment installation and commissioning.

Monitor inventory of spare parts and raise requisitions for consumables and instrument components as required.

Essential Qualifications<\/b>
<\/h3>Diploma / ITI in Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
<\/p><\/li>
Minimum 4 years of proven experience as an Instrument Technician in industrial, refinery, petrochemical, or oil & gas environments.
<\/p><\/li>
Strong hands-on knowledge of instrumentation devices, control systems, field cabling, calibration tools, and measuring equipment.

Skills Required<\/b>
<\/h3>Proficiency in troubleshooting instrumentation faults and loop-checking activities.
<\/p><\/li>
Knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, and fieldbus communication protocols.

Familiarity with industrial safety standards, HSE guidelines, and permit-to-work systems.

Ability to read and interpret P&ID, isometric drawings, instrument datasheets, and logic diagrams.
