The Assistant Professor is a full-time faculty member responsible for teaching, research, and service within a university department or program. The Assistant Professor is also responsible for participating in curriculum development, student advising, and departmental and university service activities.

Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the assigned department or program.

Develop and update course syllabi, lesson plans, and other instructional materials.

Evaluate student progress through assessments, exams, and evaluations.

Advise students on academic and career goals.

Participate in departmental meetings and committees.

Engage in scholarly research and publications in the field.

Participate in grant writing and other funding opportunities.

Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.

Attend professional development opportunities to stay updated in the field.

Maintain accurate student and course records.

Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to develop new programs and initiatives.

Support and contribute to the mission and goals of the university.

Participate in accreditation and assessment activities.

Participate in recruitment and retention efforts for the college or program.

Serve as a mentor to junior faculty members.

Collaborate with community partners to provide educational opportunities for students.

Provide service to the department, college, university, and profession.
