Principal Safety Engineer


Minimum of 20 years total experience in engineering or consultancy of oil and gas facilities, including a minimum of 15 years’ experience in TSE in Onshore Oil and Gas facilities with demonstrated TSE deliverables development & Assurance experience . (BP/ Shell/PDO Projects experience is mandatory)


·Track record of managing major Oil & Gas engineering projects as Lead Safety Engineer (CAPEX>100Million USD) spanning various Project Life cycle stages such as Feasibility, Concept, FEED, EXECUTE, Project to Asset Transition


·Demonstrated experience in Development & Assurance of:


üHSE Philosophy, Fire & Gas Philosophy, F & G Cause and Effects, F & G Layouts, F & G Mapping


üFEA/FGDEA, flare radiation and dispersion studies, safety equipment layouts, input to facility layouts/facility siting and layout studies, EPZ calculation, QRA . Experience/conducted studies using Shell FRED, SHEPHERD software and or other PEM/Risk integration software. Formal certification preferred.


üHazardous Area Classification, Critical Element Identification, Performance Standards, Bow Ties


üALARP (As Low as Reasonably Practicable), Design HSE Case, Operations HSE Case, AIPSM (Asset Integrity-Process Safety Management) & HEMP (Hazard and Effect Management Process)


üLoss prevention aspects such as Fire Safety, Fire Protection Design (FW Demand, Hydraulics, Surge, PFDs/ P & IDs, etc.), Escape & Fire Fighting design


üHuman Factors Engineering Studies experience (Valve Criticality, HFE Screening, etc)


·Facilitated/led workshops for Technical Safety, which may include but not limited to HAZID, HAZOP, Bowties, ALARP demonstration, MOPO/SIMOPs workshop, SCE Identification workshops, DEM1/DEM2/LFI Screenings and demonstrations and other HEMP studies.


·Adequate involvement in Safeguarding reviews such as Design Review, HAZOP, IPF, etc.


·Involvement in Vendor documents evaluations (e.g. Technical Bid Evaluation, Datasheets/Specifications/MR)


    Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Process Safety engineering.
