Roles & Responsibilities
Main Role (Overall Accountability)
Responsible for the delivery of agile products and projects, which will involve managing a portfolio of product teams. Support in aligning the delivery direction of the teams who are working under the various product portfolios/portfolio level status update on the product delivery performance.
Principal Accountabilities
- Setup and maintain the agile practice and define the processes, procedures, reporting, tooling, etc., to manage the portfolio.
- Champion and facilitate adoption of agile standards, tools, and best practices.
- Support the product management team in building the product roadmap and monitor its progress to make sure that quarterly product goals are being met across the various products.
- Manage the portfolio budget.
- Manage the risks and issues that might and do arise over the course of the delivery lifecycle, as well as take measures to correct them when they occur.
- Orchestrate the Scrum of Scrums for broader planning and coordination, manage the capacity and priorities of the scrum masters and support in escalations.
- Manage and use resources across the various products and teams in the portfolio.
- Manage stakeholders who are involved in the products and interdependent projects/programs.
- Communicate with leaders across the organization to ensure transparency into delivery progress, challenges, and risks.
- Make sure deliverables are aligned across the products and interdependent projects/programs.
- Decide on suitable strategies and objectives.
- Lead and evaluate scrum masters, Tech leads and other staff.
- Develop and control deadlines, budgets and activities.
- Apply change, risk and resource management.
- Prepare reports for Management.
- Ensure that all Agile governance (stated as well as implied) are met.
- Ensuring delivery of products/projects in agreed time, resources and budget.
- Ensuring Product Oversight Committee meetings, sprint ceremonies and adequate Project reporting.
Skills and Competencies
- Proven experience as a Project/Program Manager. Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
- Deep knowledge of agile practices, frameworks, and techniques.
- Good analytical, planning, implementation, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Outstanding leadership, organizational and skills.
- Excellent team management ability; Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
- Strong communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (MS Project etc.)
- Experience with agile planning and development tools (PPM Planview, Azure DevOps, Atlassian-Jira, Confluence, Zephyr).
Desired Candidate Profile
- [3-5] years of experience with agile development.
- Agile, scrum, or project management certification preferred (e.g. CSM, CSP, PMP, SAFe).
- Overall IELTS score of 7.0 and above (with minimum score of 6.5 for each individual band), or its equivalent in TOEFL; overall score of 94 and above (with minimum score of 20 for each individual section).
- Experience of 10 years in Project Management in a reputed organization in IT.
