Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Renewable Energy Technician Trainee, you will support the production of wind turbine blades and the mechanical and electrical assembly of nacelle and hub systems. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in composite manufacturing, structural assembly, mechanical integration, electrical installation, process control, and quality-controlled production processes.

Trainees will work under the supervision of engineers, trainers, and senior technicians to ensure that all production activities meet strict quality, safety, documentation, and performance standards. The program is designed to develop practical manufacturing competencies required for future employment in wind turbine component production.

Key Responsibilities and Training Scope

Blade Manufacturing and Composite Production

  • Participate in theoretical and practical training on wind turbine blade structure, factory rules and discipline, attendance and working time management, cutting room processes, raw materials, molds, supporting equipment, and workplace safety.
  • Assist in mold preparation, material cutting and kitting, fabric layup, overlap control, core material protection, root prefabrication, precast component production, spar cap/main beam preparation, shell production, and related fixture operations.
  • Handle fiberglass, carbon fiber, resins, bonding agents, core materials, auxiliary materials, and consumables in accordance with work instructions, safety requirements, and production procedures.
  • Support resin infusion, vacuum preparation, infusion layout, valve operation, curing profile control, blanket covering, hardness/TG checks, debagging, demolding, and auxiliary material removal.
  • Support web bonding and shell bonding activities, including bonding surface preparation, glue mixing, paste application, gantry and lifting fixture positioning, dry-fit checks, bonding gap adjustment, perimeter vacuum control, mold closing, and inner reinforcement layup.
  • Perform trimming, root surface trimming and root milling support, sanding, grinding, putty application, surface finishing, touch-up, coating, painting, leading-edge protection, add-ons installation, marking, and delivery/shipping preparation.
  • Support blade weighing, weight-balance calculation, balance correction, production record preparation, certificate of conformity inspection support, and final production documentation.
  • Identify defects, support repair activities, follow NCR and repair processes, and participate in defect improvement and root-cause corrective action activities under supervision.

Nacelle and Hub Assembly

  • Support the assembly of nacelle structures and hub-related mechanical systems in accordance with engineering documentation, standard operating procedures, and production plans.
  • Assist in the installation and integration of major nacelle components, including gearbox, generator, main shaft, yaw system, cooling systems, hydraulic systems, and related structural and mechanical parts.
  • Install mechanical components, electrical cabling, hydraulic lines, and auxiliary systems while following approved work instructions and safety requirements.
  • Use torque tools, measuring instruments, and precision assembly equipment to meet specified tolerances and assembly requirements.
  • Assist in alignment checks, functional testing, pre-dispatch inspections, and readiness checks before delivery or handover.
  • Maintain production records and follow standardized work procedures, quality checklists, and engineering documentation.

Quality Assurance, Safety, Process, and Maintenance Exposure
