Job Summary
We are looking for skilled and reliable Masons / Tile Fixers to join our construction team. You will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and stones, as well as installing floor and wall tiles to a high standard of finish. The ideal candidate must be hardworking, precise with measurements, and capable of working in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Masonry Work: Laying blocks, bricks, and stones using mortar to build walls, partitions, and other structures.
- Tile Installation: Preparing surfaces and installing ceramic, porcelain, or marble tiles on floors and walls with precision.
- Plastering: Applying plaster or cement finishes to walls and ceilings to create smooth surfaces.
- Measurement & Cutting: Measuring surfaces and cutting tiles or bricks to size using hand tools or power saws to ensure a perfect fit.
- Grouting & Finishing: Filling tile joints with grout and cleaning surfaces to ensure a professional, aesthetic finish.
- Leveling: Using spirit levels and plumb bobs to ensure all work is perfectly aligned and structurally sound.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Mason or Tile Fixer in large-scale residential or commercial projects (Gulf Experience Prefered).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work 10-hour shifts and handle heavy materials.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in aligning patterns and ensuring level surfaces.
- Travel Readiness: Must have a valid passport for processing.
Salary and Benefits Package:
- Gross Salary: OMR 120 to 150 per month.
- Food & Accommodation: Fully provided by the company at no cost to the employee.
- Transportation: Company-provided transport to and from the worksite.
- Visa Charges: Free (Fully provided and paid for by the company).
- Duty Hours: 10 hours per day.
- Weekly Holiday: 1 day off per week.
- Leave Policy: 2 months of paid holiday upon completion of a 2-year contract.
- Flight Tickets: Return air ticket provided every 2 years to major cities.
- Labor Laws: All other terms and conditions are strictly governed by Omani Labor Laws.

Skills
To ensure a high standard of construction and finishing, a Mason / Tile Fixer should possess a blend of technical expertise, physical durability, and attention to detail.
Technical Skills:
- Tile Setting Expertise: Mastery in laying ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles. This includes understanding the correct "buttering" techniques and ensuring uniform spacing using spacers.
- Surface Preparation: Proficiency in preparing sub-floors and walls, including leveling surfaces with screed or mortar to ensure a flat base for tiling or blockwork.
- Material Mixing: Expert knowledge in mixing various ratios of sand, cement, and lime for mortar, as well as preparing specialized tile adhesives and grouts.
- Cutting & Shaping: Skilled use of wet saws, tile cutters, and grinders to create precise angles, holes for plumbing fixtures, and smooth edges.
- Grouting & Caulking: Ability to apply grout and sealants cleanly to ensure joints are watertight and aesthetically pleasing.
Construction & Masonry Skills
- Block & Brick Laying: Proficiency in building load-bearing and non-load-bearing walls using cement blocks or bricks, ensuring they are perfectly plumb (vertical) and level.
- Plastering & Rendering: Experience in applying cement plaster to internal and external walls to achieve a smooth, even finish ready for painting.
- Alignment Tools: Expert use of spirit levels, plumb bobs, and string lines to maintain straight lines and accurate corners across large surface areas.
- Waterproofing: Knowledge of applying waterproofing membranes or compounds in "wet areas" like bathrooms and kitchens before tile installation.
Physical & Professional Skills:
- Manual Dexterity: High level of hand-eye coordination for intricate tile patterns and decorative masonry work.
- Physical Endurance: Capacity to work in a demanding environment, involving frequent kneeling, lifting heavy materials (cement bags/blocks), and working 10-hour shifts.
- Mathematical Accuracy: Ability to calculate square footage and material wastage to ensure resources are used efficiently.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to construction site safety, including the use of dust masks, goggles, and gloves when cutting materials or handling chemicals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years in finishing work for residential or commercial buildings (Gulf Experience Prefered).
- Trade Knowledge: Familiarity with both traditional masonry and modern "thin-set" tile installation methods.
