Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
As a Freight Forwarding Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving business growth by managing and developing client relationships, generating new sales opportunities, and achieving sales targets within the freight forwarding industry. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a proven track record in sales.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Strategic:
Identify and target potential clients in the freight forwarding industry to expand the customer base.Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitors, and opportunities for growth.Develop and implement sales action plans to achieve or exceed sales targets.Track and analyses sales data, including market trends, client preferences, and competitor activities, to identify areas for improvement.
:Operational
Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective clients.Negotiate and close sales contracts, ensuring profitability and alignment with company objectives.Support the onboarding and transfer of all new business from contract signing until business as usual status.Follow-up with internal and external customer requests for quotes & pricing.Follow-up on all estimates that have been submitted to customers.Monitor and participate on RFQ s with the designated freight forwarding operations person.
People:
Client Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients in the freight forwarding industry.Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.Conduct regular client meetings to understand their needs, address concerns, and identify new business opportunities.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient execution of client requirements.Liaise directly with a portfolio of Oman and international based clients and understand those customers logistics needs.Sales Collaboration:Generate leads and actively pursue new business opportunities through various channels, such as cold calling, networking events, and industry conferences.Collaborate with the Sales team to share best practices, provide support, and contribute to overall team success.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum Experience
7+ years of experience in freight forwardiing sales or busines development
Job Specific Skills
Strong knowledge of international trade, logistics, and supply chain management concepts.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets.
Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in relevant sales and CRM software.
Willingness to travel as required.
