Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible for execution of quality inspections as per Client specifications, Contract quality control plans and inspection test packs.
He/she shall report to the relevant area QA/QC Engineer.
Responsibilities & Authorities:
- Implement QA/QC activities including those of sub suppliers works in accordance with approved ITPs and procedures, method statements and other control Documents;
- Prepare and sign off applicable records for quality surveillance/inspections/tests;
- Carry out surveillance inspections to verify processes and procedures compliance. The surveillance role shall be as follows but not limited to:
o To monitor all activities with respect to quality performance.
o Raising RFI to client for day-to-day construction activities
o Witness Pigging/ hydro test/Pneumatic test activities.
o Line walks and punch list preparation / closeouts.
o PQR/WQT conduct as per PWPS & WPS
o To ensure that the materials are from the approved Suppliers.
o To ensure close out of NCRs with suitable correction and corrective actions.
- Maintain records of calibration, inspection and testing equipment.
- Maintaining the latest revision of all Contract Documents, Drawings, Specifications, and Standards, required for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and inspection.
- Witness qualification procedures, tests and certify the results.
- Carrying out surveillance inspection at regular intervals.
- Carrying out material receiving inspection and review and verification of MTCs.
- Maintaining performance records of Welders/ Welding Operators/ Bonders/ Jointers/ Applicators.
- Monitoring Controlled storage and proper preservation of materials/equipment at stores/warehouse.
- Initiating NCR for non-compliances identified with respect to Quality, during execution of the work.
- Issue Inspection Release Note of Product/ Sign test pack (QC dossier), as applicable.
- Provide feedback to Site Quality Engineer or next immediate authority in quality organization chart (where SQE is not identified) on the day to day quality issues.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualification: HNC or HND or graduate or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, welding Engineering or Metallurgy or appropriate craft training
CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 / AWS or equivalent and certified to ASNT / EN 473 / PCN level II in RT, PT, MT and UT techniques.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of overall inspection experience in construction industries out of which 4 years shall be gained in oil and gas facility construction. Pipeline experience is mandatory.
Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
- Good knowledge and skills in quality audit
- Good knowledge of MS Office
