Roles & Responsibilities
Define and execute the bank's overarching UX strategy, ensuring design aligns with the brand vision and business objectives of a digital-first Mobile banking experience in Oman.
Establish and maintain a comprehensive Design System and Component Library that ensures consistency, scalability, and velocity across all product squads.
Lead and oversee user research programmes including qualitative interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry, and quantitative surveys with Omani and GCC-based customer segments.
Translate research insights and behavioural analytics into actionable design improvements and product feature recommendations.
Develop and maintain detailed customer personas, journey maps, and service blueprints for key banking use-cases (onboarding, payments, PFM, wealth, insurance).
Continuously benchmark the bank's UX against regional and global neobank leaders (e.g., Revolut, Monzo, Mashreq Neo, LiV) to inform innovation priorities.
Own the delivery of wireframes, interactive prototypes, high-fidelity UI mockups, and detailed design specifications for features across iOS, Android
Qualifications & Technical Skills
Bachelor's degree in User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Master's degree preferred.
Expert proficiency in Figma (components, auto-layout, variables, and dev mode); experience with Sketch or Adobe XD is a plus.
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and agile delivery practices.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of progressive UX/UI design experience, with at least 4 years in a lead or senior designer role within a fintech, digital bank, neobank, or financial services organisation.
Demonstrated experience designing complex retail banking mobile banking applications on iOS and Android.
Prior experience designing for Arabic-language (RTL) audiences is highly desirable.
Experience working in or with GCC/MENA market banking products preferred.
