Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in Human Resource Management modules at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
  • Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and learning materials
  • Assess student assignments and provide feedback
  • Support students with coursework and academic queries
  • Liaise with the Faculty Director or Module Leader on teaching-related matters
  • Maintain accurate student records (attendance, grades)
  • Contribute to module delivery using practical HR case studies and industry insights
  • Attend essential academic meetings (as required)
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager relevant to the role

Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Line Manager.

Qualifications, Competencies & Experience:

  • Experience in teaching Human Resource Management modules or delivering professional HR training
  • Practical industry experience in Human Resources
  • Ability to explain HR concepts clearly and effectively
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to link theory with practical HR applications
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Commitment to supporting student learning

Position Title:

Part-time Lecturer in Human Resources (CIPD Certified)

Reports to:

Dean Faculty of Business and Management

Purpose of the Position:

Muscat University is looking to support its Faculty of Business & Management through the appointment of a Part-time Lecturer in Human Resources (CIPD Certified). The post holder will contribute to the effective delivery of modules while ensuring a high-quality student learning experience and compliance with Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) standards.

Qualifications, Competencies & Experience:

  • Master s degree (PhD preferred) in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or closely related field
  • CIPD Certification (Associate level or above)
  • Membership of recognized HR professional bodies
  • Experience in Omani or GCC higher education environment
  • Experience using digital learning platforms (e.g., LMS)
