Sr. Investment Associate
The Investment Associate will work closely with founders, decision-makers, and investors to deliver high-quality financial models, pitch materials, capital budgeting analysis, and fundraising support. In addition to owning financial advisory deliverables, the Investment Associate will oversee a team of Investment Associates/Interns and contribute to business development efforts across Fintler’s client portfolio.
Job Description
1. Fundraising & Investor Readiness
- Support clients through the fundraising process, including pitch deck development, financial summary preparation, and term sheet review.
- Create investment packs and assist with data rooms for investor or lender due diligence.
- Engage with capital providers, including banks, VCs, and accelerators, to support client fundraising goals.
2. Financial Modeling & Valuation
- Build and manage 3-statement financial models with full integration, sensitivity analysis, and valuation metrics (DCF, IRR, NPV).
- Develop capital structure projections and cap table models for early-stage companies.
- Ensure financials are aligned with market benchmarks and investor expectations.
3. Planning, Budgeting & Capital Allocation
- Assist clients in developing detailed budgets, multi-year business plans, and capital investment proposals.
- Conduct capital budgeting analyses to assess feasibility and return on investment for new projects or expansions.
- Provide financial advisory around cost of capital, working capital, and debt structuring.
4. Investment Due Diligence & Strategic Finance
- Conduct pre-investment analysis for client opportunities and investment cases.
- Support internal and external financial due diligence processes.
- Collaborate on investment memos and strategic assessments for decision-making.
5. Client Support & Internal Tools
- Serve as a key finance advisor to startups and SMEs within Fintler’s investment support stream.
- Coordinate with accounting and digital finance teams to ensure accuracy in financial inputs.
- Contribute to Fintler’s library of templates, dashboards, and fundraising tools.
6. Team Leadership & Oversight
- Lead and supervise a small delivery team consisting of Investment Associates.
- Review deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission according to Fintler’s standards.
- Manage workflow across multiple client engagements, delegating tasks and ensuring balanced workload distribution.
- Coach and mentor junior staff, supporting their technical development in modeling, valuation, pitching and documentation best practices.
6.1 Client Leadership & Relationship Management
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment on deliverables, timelines, and expectations.
- Represent Fintler in meetings with founders, investors, and stakeholders, supporting strategic discussions and investment-related communications.
- Provide advisory-level insights, ensuring clients understand financial results, assumptions, and recommendations.
6.2 Business Development
- Identify opportunities to expand the current scope of work across existing client accounts.
- Monitor ongoing engagements to flag potential areas for service expansion or strategic advisory opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to craft integrated solutions that strengthen Fintler’s long-term client relationships.
Skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance (mandatory).
- Minimum CFA Level 1 passed.
- 2-3 years of experience in investment advisory, financial modeling, FP&A, or related roles.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
- Strong communication skills and comfort engaging senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with GCC financial and startup ecosystems is preferred.
