JOB PURPOSE:
- Underwriting and assessment of Corporate Credit Proposals covering complex financing structures and clear recommendation to Credit Committee.
- Identify, assess and quantify key risks in all credit applications received to be in line with the Credit Policy Manual and if not, propose sufficient mitigants for exceptional approvals.
- Assess risk profile of the borrower in terms of purpose of credit source of repayment, Financial considerations, commercial and technical aspects, Industry evaluation, sensitivity to market and economic conditions, borrower’s position in the industry and techno-economic aspects, collateral quality in terms of type and enforceability, and transaction characteristics.
- Assessment and validation of financial projections.
- Assess risk profile of the borrower in terms of purpose of credit source of repayment, Financial considerations, commercial and technical aspects, Industry evaluation, sensitivity to market and economic conditions, borrower’s position in the industry and techno-economic aspects, collateral quality in terms of type and enforceability, and transaction characteristics.
- Ensure timely submission of credit related MIS and regulatory returns.
- Assess and monitor industry, country risk, concentration risk etc. accordingly provides internal advisories on an ongoing basis.
- Review and monitor accounts in terms of IFRS- 9 guidelines and specifically with respect to SICR guidelines.
- Portfolio Management of all Corporates through reviewing of existing corporate portfolio by industry, by risk rating and performing / non-performing nature.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure faster TAT for credit underwriting and ad-hoc transactions.
- Timely completion of annual review / renewal of existing portfolio.
- Ensure compliance with credit policy for existing exposure / portfolio and proposed exposures.
- Ensure to hold appropriate approvals on record for exceptions to credit policy, if any.
- Ensure proper compliance of covenants and periodical monitoring.
- Ensure reduction of existing NPL.
- Ensure Minimal to NIL asset slippage through timely identification of warning signs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business economics from an accredited financial institution.
- Experience in risk management specifically in credit with minimum of 5 to 7 years in MENA region. Preferably Oman or GCC region.
- Familiarity with Corporate banking and transactions / Corporate banking products
- Strong knowledge of corporate credit underwriting
- Strong ability to analyse financial statements
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Credit and all risk management policies / HO policies and general lending guidelines of UAE
- Flexibility and proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high volume environment
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as the ability to take initiative and work independently
- Proven ability to interact with various levels of management
