Unit Head – Facility Management

Job Purpose:

The Unit Head – Facility Management ensures smooth operation and efficiency of the Bank’s physical infrastructure. He/ She oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all facility related activities including ongoing plan implementations and branches facility and required maintenance management.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops comprehensive facility management strategy aligned with the bank's goals and objectives.
  • Oversees the maintenance and operational activities of all bank facilities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and security systems.
  • Optimizes space utilization, plans for future expansions, and ensures an efficient layout.
  • Undertakes building, branches and grounds maintenance.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices are in line with employees and customer requirements.
  • Manages outstanding relationship with external service providers, contractors, and suppliers maintaining quality service delivery.
  • Negotiates contracts, evaluates performance, and ensures cost-effectiveness in the procurement of facility-related services and supplies.
  • Develops and implements robust HSE policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local and international regulations.
  • Monitors and evaluates HSE risks, ensuring a safe working environment, and proactively addresses any issues.
  • Manages and coordinates all security-related activities to safeguard bank facilities, assets, and personnel.
  • Conducts regular security assessments, implements security protocols, and responds to security incidents effectively.
  • Complies with relevant regulations to promote a culture of safety among employees and visitors.
  • Leads sustainability initiatives within the bank's facilities, including energy efficiency, waste management and carbon emission reduction, paperless project and green building practices, to promote environmental responsibility.
  • Maintains cleanliness of facility according to company’s policies and procedures.
  • Complies with circulated health and safety regulations.
  • Manages waste disposal systems and ensures its proactive system.
  • Ensures adequate communications infrastructure and workplace safety precautions.
  • Manages parking facilities and conducts regular facility inspections.
  • Manages and reviews service contracts and checks completed work by vendors and contractors.
  • Superintends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, refurbishments, renovations, facility inspections and facility design modifications.
  • Forecasts, allocates, and supervises the financial and physical resources of the facility management.


Qualifications, Experience and Skill

  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, Operations or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Facilities Management or HSE such as NEBOSH, FMP, IFMA.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of security regulations and facilities management.
  • Familiarity with security software and technologies.
