Human Resources Specialist

Purpose:


The HR Specialist will provide high-quality HR advice and support to managers and employees across the organization. HR Specialist will be responsible for interpreting policies and procedures, providing guidance on employment law, and assisting with employee relations matters. The HR Specialist will also support the HR & Admin Manager with various HR projects and initiatives.


Principle Accountabilities:

  • Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees on HR policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of HR initiatives, such as performance management, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Provide support to managers on the recruitment and selection process, including job description creation, candidate sourcing, and interviewing.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, including employee files, contracts, and performance evaluations.
  • Manage employee relations issues, such as grievances and disciplinary matters, in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Support the delivery of HR training and development programs, including onboarding, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement.
  • Identifies training needs for departments and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Monitor and report on HR-related metrics, such as staff turnover, absenteeism, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Stay up to date with changes to employment legislation and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, such as managers, employees, and external partners.
  • Reviewing employees' work progress using an employee appraisal system and making recommendations, if necessary.
  • Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all relevant employment legislation and regulations.
  • Review resumes, conduct initial phone screens, and short-list qualified candidates for interviews.
  • Create job postings and utilize various channels (job boards, social media, networking) to source candidates.
  • Develop and execute effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Schedule and conduct interviews with candidates, ensuring a thorough evaluation of skills, qualifications, and cultural fit.

Academic Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. CIPD or SHRM certification preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar HR Specialist role or relevant.
