We are currently hiring Lab Technician to execute the lab activities including the lab testing and product quality certification ensuring lab facility, equipment, test method, and test consumables are ready to support upstream operations facilities commissioning and facilities performance test run. They will also execute the analysis activities according to the established sampling schedule and guidelines for optimal utilization of lab.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines and international standards, supported by IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
Job Description
- Take charge of the samples and ensure they are accurately tagged.
- Analyze samples from various sources to provide information on compounds or quantities of compounds present.
- Perform lab instruments evaluation, using control samples or prepared standard.
- Dispose of the hazardous and non-hazardous lab waste as per approved procedures.
- Operate lab instruments as per approved instructions and maintain them available for operation at all times.
- Perform reagent preparation and standardization.
- Validate and approve results in LIMS in the absence his/her supervisor.
- Prepare and certify product quality in the absence of his/her supervisor
Qualifications
- Diploma in Chemistry, or related.
- Excellent knowledge of written, read, and spoken English
- Knowledgeable about Crude production technology, raw material and product, gained through experience from Crude Operations field.
- Familiar with the Crude test method and Lab equipment, QC, and Application testing.
- Knowledge in the use of LIMS (particularly Labware) and SAP applications for data management and equipment breakdown history.
- Good knowledge in Quality Assurance, Quality Control and HSE plans.
- Familiar with techniques for ensuring data integrity with various integration of information/ reports
- Accurate Reporting skills
