Job Purpose:
Oversee the overall strategic direction, planning, coordination, administration, and evaluation of the Technology function. In addition, this role is responsible for developing and ensuring effective implementation of plans, systems, policies, and processes, while ensuring strategic alignment & compliance to MCD. The incumbent of this role will be required to develop and implement innovative initiatives and interventions aligned with the use of the 4th industrial revolution and disruptive technologies (i.e. AI, IoT, FinTech etc.)
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Translates business strategy into an operational strategy/business plan, to ensure transparency and consistency of implementation across the company based on standard practices such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL, CIS or other international standards).
- Oversees the development, implementation, and management of all technological aspects within MCD.
- Identification of innovative technologies and evaluates new and emerging technologies to support MCD use of technology proficiently & cost-effectiveness.
- Translates the business units needs within MCD into systematic and technology initiatives.
- Providing development proposals on policies and controls related to the field of work.
- Responsible for directing and overseeing the preparation of short-term and long-term plans and budgets in alignment with the organizational goals and growth objectives.
- Lead appropriate committee(s) meetings with key stakeholders for each program to help make key decisions, overcome challenges, and address key implementation issues. Be the key driver to ensure business goals are met and support the strategic vision of each program.
- Set overall KPIs and targets for the Function in line with organisational performance targets and ensure appropriate cascading to the Departments and ensure their achievement.
- Oversee & manage collaborative partnerships across functional teams across MCD and other related entities (CMA & MSX) within the IT realm.
- Oversee data security, management, governance and compliance; define and enhance implementation methodologies and practices with best practice and practical experience of continuous improvement.
- Oversee relationships with strategic vendors, technology partners and service providers to ensure they cost-effectively meet the needs of MCD.
- Responsible for supporting the CEO, by providing and presenting technical advice and solutions to address business challenges of different stakeholders such as BoD, Government entities and to MCD’s leadership team.
- Create technology strategic plans and set timelines for evaluation, development, and deployment of all technical, web, and mobile services.
- Evaluate the results of overall MCD’s technology operations regularly and systematically and report findings to the CEO.
- Responsible for fostering a culture of motivation and continuous improvement within the technology team. This includes providing mentorship, guidance, and coaching to team members.
- Adhere to compliance and technology operational risk controls in accordance with regulatory standards, policies, practices and report control weaknesses, compliance breaches, and operational defects.

Minimum Qualification/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a degree that is relevant to the job, along with a professional certificate preferred.
- Master’s Degree / MBA is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in financial institutions is an advantage.
- Strong background in technology with 4-6 years’ experience in a senior management role.
- Experience leading complex, major changes and initiatives; demonstrated skills in change management on an organizational and interpersonal level; experience with integrating teams across multiple business units and managing a geographically dispersed workforce.
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, Project Management, Software Development Life Cycle, Software Quality Assurance methodologies, and familiarity with project management tools and bug/issue tracking systems.
