About the Company
Petroleum Development Oman is the leading exploration and production company in the Sultanate of Oman. The Company delivers the majority of the country's crude oil production and natural gas supply.
Purpose of the Job
- Supervise a team of process engineers to translate the limited information from the Concept Selection Report and/or Basis for Design to a full process design and project specifications.
- Supervise a team of process engineers to carry out the Process Engineering FEED activities
(Define stage) for an assigned area of a specific project in order to generate the relevant Process Engineering FEED deliverables on time according to DCAF requirements.
- Responsible for supporting Process Discipline Team, ensuring deliverables meet Technical requirements, Quality Assurance, Schedule and Cost requirements and Implement Standardization. Practice LEAN and continuous improvements.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Process, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years industry experience in Process engineering positions on Oil & Gas industry.
- Good communicator and good inter-personal/leadership skills.
- Acting as a champion to break new grounds and is self-motivated.
- Fully versed with Process principles, techniques and industry standard software and standards.
- Meets Minimum requirements of Technical Authority of TA-3 in Process discipline.
- Knowledge of HSE and AIPSM.
- Ability to think strategically and link the company-wide targets to individual facilities.
- Highly analytical, with track record of strong verbal and written communication.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare Process Engineering Cost, Time and Resource (CTR) Catalogue for projects.
- Contribute to Basis for Design, Basis of Design, and Project Specifications/Philosophies.
- Carry out Process Simulations Models and Flare & Blowdown Simulations.
- Generate Heat & Material Balance (H&MB) Tables.
- Develop Process/Utility Flow Schemes and Control Narrative.
- Develop Process/Utility Engineering Flow Schemes and Process Safeguarding Flow Schemes.
- Perform Sizing for Process Equipment and Relief Valves.
- Carry out Line Hydraulics and provide/review Inputs to Line Listing.
- Develop Safeguarding Memorandum.
- Carry out Process Engineering Studies.
- Participate in Design Reviews, HAZOP’s, IPF Classifications, 3D Model review, Plot plan, HFE, constructability review etc.
- Review Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and review Technical queries (TQ) raised during TBE stage
- Provide assurance review to Technical HSE for DEM-1, DEM-2, EPSF and AI-PSM lesson learned compliance checklist.
- Ensure compliance to discipline engineering standards, work processes, systems and tools.
- Continually seeks new ways of working to improve performance and value delivery.
- Implement, practice, and monitor Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001-2015.
- Manage Process Inputs to:
- Material Selection Report
- Cause & Effect Diagrams.
- Instrument Data Sheets.
- Alarm & Trip Setting.
- Hazardous Area Classification Schedule.
- Initiate and check Process Engineering Deliverables.
